Hello everybody,
I bought a silverline 304 dual exaust system for my truck
My muffler had a dent striaght out of the box.
so they are gonna warrantee it for me.

I was thinking of having them send me a muffler delete.
they are willing to send me either a new muffler or a delete pipe

I know the delete will be louder
but which one will sound better?
which one makes more power?

what would you do?

i would say take the muffler. i like how the silverline kits sound on the 7.3 tons of wistle. see how much they would charge you for the muffler delete pipe this way they can send them both together.

i don't know about yours but my silver line kit was a pain in the rear to install nothing fit right. but i would go with the muffler cause it will eliminate the drone on the highway. one thing i can say is the truck sounds good with the exhaust.

Muffler delete pipe is about $70.00. Take the replacement muffler and buy a delete pipe that way you have both just incase you don't like it w/o the muffler

I got it from ter diesel
for a great price
the dent isnt too bad, its about the size of a silver dollar
Ive been running the system for about 6 months

I opted for the delete pipe
once the muffler is off I can work on straightening it out

I've never heard the system with a muffler.....I've always had the delete pipe on my Silverline duals.

I like the sound.
May get you unwanted attention at times LOL

dude, everybody looks at this truck
and when I drive my 67' camaro I get alot of looks in that also
but believe it or not I get more looks in this truck
and my truck is more fun to drive.

Ive got both the delete pipe and the muffler
but I havent installed the delete pipe yet
I have to go out to somebodies birthday bash

but do you ever get sick of the sound???
My camaro has dual exhaust
and I love how loud the 427 is
and I used to have the pickup straightpiped
but it had a lisp to it with the 3 inch pipe

Im just gonna do the pipe tonight or tommorrow and try it

I haven't gotten sick of the sound.....even in it for 8hrs straight on highway.

Cruising it's not loud.
Mashing it leaving a light with your windows down it's pretty loud....damn near gave a cop whiplash when I did that once while taking a turn :hehe:

yeah man,
those filthy cops

Thats one reason its cool to be in a diesel
as long as they dont try to give you a mudflap ticket

I've been lucky that most of the police I've dealt with are pretty cool......except for the state trooper who pulled me on Christmas morning a few years ago, I didn't care for her much LOL

everytime they talk to me the always have thier baton ready to try to bash on me.
sometimes they do,
then when thier done they always let me go.

Once I was even pulled by my hair over the top of my jeep half door with a gun pressed on my forehead.

he had one hand on me and the other on the trigger,
then he gave me a mudflap ticket.

the black and white cops dont like me for some reason.
I think I make them nervous
cuz they always call for backup

???

I deleted the muffler on my MBRP dual system, but I also have a aeroturbine up by the tranny X member...

Love the sound.

I just finished straight piping my truck.
It fit together much better than with the muffler.

I took it for a test ride
and it sounds GREEATTT.

It also has a little more power.

getting on the freeway it doesnt take as much throttle to get it moving.

I also saw a grey and black 6.4l 08'''' with orange county diesel stickers all over it
he saw me and tried blowing smoke on me.
guess what, I went around him, and then passed him.
the whole time he was blowing smoke (I dont like how it looks when smoke only comes out of one side of a truck).
so he must''''ve been on it.
when I shut down he passed me still blowing smoke,
and blew his train horns at me.
my windows were all the way down, so it scared the poop out of me.
that jive turkey

my trucks running GOOD.
it sounds like a built truck now.
the tone is awsome, and the whistle is better.
In my oppinion if anyone is wondering the same question that I started out with, you should delete the muff-burger.
its way better and the decibel level is about the same unless your right next to a wall.
even riding on the freeway with the windows down, its about the same its just a little more throaty,
and it sounds WAY better
