  • We can help you out on something specific like that. Pm me what your looking for and what pump your currently have.
Not sure if you got message dont think I can pm yet because new to forum but yes works great on acert.
For drag racing I would go auto like you plan on doing. Ever meet Steve Bohatch? He has a killer 2nd gen Vp truck that runs 11's. He runs a monster pump. I have drag raced on the street a few times lol. I hate ricers lol. Ya gonna get a set made. Think last time I priced materials for them and a piece of diamond plate to keep the stacks safe in the bed was around 380 bucks probaly more now since I priced that last year. There is a fab shop close to me.
im not sure what bars im going with right yet have a few in mind but i may just end up making them myself. do you do any drag racing with your truck? i have a nv5600 and its no good for the track once i get it running and get the rear end and front suspension set im dropping an auto in for the track.
Yeah I gotta get a set of ladder bars made as well. I have a haisley street puller dual disk clutch on a fresh rebuilt trans with a billet input. Still the stock dana 80 out back with 3.54's for now. I have a set of 4.10's waiting to be put in. Still desiding on what traction device I want to use as I would still like streetability. Thinking a fresh posi with maybe a lil tweaking and an e locker for the front.
so who do you deal with now? im not familiar with many diesel shops around here besides caleb at black out that really only does dmaxs and occasional light work to crs... i see what your saying about the hr and i might give it another look. as of now im just trying to get it on the road but the machine shops taking forever... what kind of clutch and rear dif are you running, that is next on my lisst besides ladder bars.
I used to deal with him, but a common used to be friend made dealings hard. So, I moved on. I have an SO pump on my truck and it worked fine but once you get to a certain level it is going to be tapped out. Hence the hotrod pump of various makers take it one step further in more fuel delivery. They make bigger numbers on a stock truck correct but they support a modified trucks fuel demands better.
im more concerend about the reliability of the monster more than the price... ive heard great about them as far as power and reliablilty and ive heard some hardcore horror stories....7k miles and it $h1t the bed... i have not heard much about the dragonflow either tho. but i have heard of the hotrods being junk. Idk if ur familir with andy sebek in mount pleasant but he said he dynoed the so ho and iihotrod and he said the so made the best power and the hotrod is only good without a programmer which doesnt make sense to me but i trust him lol
Monster pumps are a bit pricey. I have also looked into them a bit. I would go with an II Hot rod pump. If this pump cant be fixed by the seller I am going for either an II Hotrod pump or dragonflow pump.
yea i origonally wanted to p-pump it but i kinda like a chanllenge and my buddy has a cr that i wanna hang with and it would be a kick in the nuts to do it on a vp...:tree:being that hes fully built bottom end soon to be twin cp3 and blah blah blah... i was considering a monster but have not done enough research yet to push myself towards them. so as of now a sovp is in my future
If it is an Ho pump and not an So or Hot rod Id look into switching it out pretty soon. They limit power
i just ordered f1 mach7s and adr4k head is at gms getting o ringed and i bought a twin kit not sure if i wanna use it or get a batmowheel 66. running a hovp and am sure its on borrowed time once she fires up for the first time in going on 3 months
Well the old setup with ddp 200's and 64 ran great stepping up to 250's and a 66 and a bigger vp that i got off a friend that turned out not to work so I'm still in the build process. With the 64 I could pull out in 3rd with the twin disc southbend and smoke the tires. Damn 38's are pricey. Going to 35's for pulling now though.
