This goes in a hole you would cut into the bottom of the tank correct? Just want to make sure I am looking at it correctly.

I would be down for that. My FASS will lose total prime when I come to a stop sign hard when Im just bairely under 1/2 tank and I'll have to get out and crack the filter for it to reprime= SUCKS

I'd like some input from those of you that have them of how far you can go down on your tank without issues.

as you know, our tank have a low spot. My draw tube which I never cut bends towards the low spot of the tank laying on the bottom with the end of the tube a 1/4" off the bottom in the low end.

I can run my truck to E and below without issue. I think this is the biggest problem people are encountering. Instructions tell you to cut the tube with a bevel on the end. The tube should just be bent onto the bottom. If you have good filtration... you shouldn't have a problem.

Joe, that's a sweet looking tank cap thingy. I just wonder how many would go to that expense when it's hard for many to pay what a aftermarket LP costs. It looks like it belongs on a fuel cell !

That's a nice looking piece Joe and I like it better than having a bulk head fitting in the tank like I do.

Correct.Use a three inch hole saw.
If your going to drop the tank to install a larger siphon tube it just makes sense to use a gravity feed sump instead.

Looks like a very nice piece. Now how much for that nice looking piece. Will be a great fix for all these guys having issues with their draw straw.

Yep, there sure won't be a 1/4 issue with that.

How much fuel is still in the tank when it "dings" at 1/8 tank? Enough to keep that sump filled?

Your truck will run with this untill you suck every last drop of fuel out of the tank. Your gauge and all will work like normal.
Similar versions have been on trucks for years back when DI sold them. I've been trying to get my hands on one for a long time....I knew Joe would make some sooner or later sine DI doesn't offer them any more.

Why in the hell would anyone want to mess with a draw straw when with this...you KNOW you're gonna be getting every bit of fuel available to your pump ?

Think about what youre asking for a sec....
If your pump can pull fuel through a tube at 1/8 tank where there's a gap between the bottom of the tank and the tube.....there's even MORE fuel available with this since it's a SUMP. It's drawing from LOWER than the bottom of the tank.

Good call. I wasn't sure of how the stock pick-up was arranged. Whats the going rate for this sump?

Purchased same one about 4-5 years ago and it's been working great. My first thought was the aluminiun exposed to the freezing climate and gelling as it hangs low and in the elements. Never a problem in down to -20 deg.

looks real nice....but I'm not sure this will "fix" 1/4 tank issues??
a airdog150 will suck a stock canister dry in seconds and it will do the same with your sump.. unless you are on flat ground all the time you will still have fluctuating psi readings with this set-up when on hills...or coming to a quick stop..or taking off from a light.
but what do I know...I have not ran it...that's just what I think will happen from my experiences.

Like UNBROKEN said above. It shouldn't be a problem. If a stock pick-up works at 1/8 tank, going down hills, and stoping fast. Then this will serve in place of a draw tube and supply as much fuel as possible.

Similar sumps have been on numerous trucks for several years...the part is well tested.

Joe...those will take a -10 line, right ?

There tapped 1/2 NPT. Same line size I have on my race truck and data logger has never shown an issue. Most aftermarket fuel systems come with 1/2 inch line so I figured it is fine.
Comes with gasket and bolts.Since there are many ways people attach there lines I don't furnish the fitting . Home Depot can fix you up cheap.

The bottom of the sump bowl is 2" under the fuel tank. There is no question you will have a constant fuel feed.When your truck dies you've allready gone twenty miles farther than a siphon tube. Slam on the brakes , up hill ,down hill whatever.
