I have a 16 6.7 ford and motor is locked up. went into ford to price a long block the part number for that truck is back ordered and 8500 for rebuilt engine. 14-18 part number. 19 and up engine is new long block for 4300. My question is will the long block fit? what changes did they make?

'19 long block is $12K list. The SHORT block is $4800 list.

11-16 short blocks will all work the same.

Motor is in. Fits but you have to change exhaust manifolds and one up pipe.

There are countless definitions of a complete long block. He’s curious to know just how complete. For instance, the original definition of a long block was a short block plus heads and valvetrain. That’s it. You already mentioned something about the ex. manifolds so nobody really knows for sure whatcha got.
