2.5 Puller 4.56 vs 4.88 Gears

I'm doing a gear swap in my 2012 and can't decide between 4.56 or 4.88. Will also be doing a spool in the rear and locker in the front with 35" tires at the same time. Target RPM is a minimum of 3500 but not looking to go over 4200 to stay in the charger and cam's sweet spot. I will also be swapping between the BOB 2.5 charger and a 2.6 smooth bore where I have to.

Thanks guys. If i was strictly running the BOB 2.5 charger i think i could get away with 4.56 but being limited power wise with the 2.6 smooth bore has me concerned i won’t be able to stay on top of it. Should have also mentioned i have an nv4500 in it running direct. Right now I’m running 33” sts in direct with stock driveline and 3.73 averaging 33-3500 once the sled pulls it down at the end of the track.

If strictly a pulling truck and able to unlock front to steer go 4.88 rear 4.56 up front. That's what I'm running and does fine. I just unlock one hub up front to turn in the pits and hooking to sled

I’ll be building a 2.5 Truck soon also. Not trying to high jack your thread but Are you guys pulling in 4 gear and 4 low with these gear ratios?

I was running 4.88s with nv4500, 241dhd. Was around 800hp in a 2.5 small frame/2.6sb class. If I stuck with the class I was gonna try the split ratio or 4.56 front and rear.
