20-145 yoke

Has anyone found a place that sells a 1550 billet yoke for a 20-145. Thanks

rawdog 06-04-2018 04:54 AM

I think Zbag does

zfaylor 06-04-2018 07:28 AM

Action Machine in South Bend, IN has always treated us well for anything driveline related.

Rich dzl 06-04-2018 07:30 AM

Haisley or performance pros

zbag
profab
Proformance pros

All sell them. They are pricey ~$700-$800. Depending on the application you may also want to try a SPL100 yoke ($250).

Found one at haisleys thanks guys

lempka_pulling 06-07-2018 10:30 PM

After haisleys sent me one for a sqhd called back and they don't have one for a 20-145. Called performance pros and they claim nobody has yet made one for a 20-145

You may have to go with the SPL100 yoke.

I called Mark Petros at Greensburg Machine and Drivelkne to order my 1550 yoke for mine, he advised me not to run a 1550 on mine and to jump up to a 1610 joint because the 1550 has a smaller diameter spline on the telescoping portion of the shaft and apparently that becomes the weak link on higher horsepower trucks on decent tracks. I would have bet that 1550 would be plenty enough for my 3.0 SB setup and the ****ty tracks we have in NE but Mark highly encouraged me to go with the bigger joints once and be done with it so I’ll trust his opinion. Just thought I’d pass along the info I was given...

Several local trucks run those yokes without issue.

Stackman06 08-16-2018 05:45 AM

1550 is plenty. 3 years no problems.

Shenian508 08-16-2018 06:19 AM

That was my thought as well, I bought my profab box used off of a 3.6 truck and it already had the 1550 yoke on it. Mark brought up an interesting point that about the splined portion of the shaft but I just can’t see myself breaking one....

bigstacks95 08-16-2018 07:05 AM

1480's all around here

We are running the 1610 from Mark for what it’s worth

Ryan, aka stackman has had 2 different 3.6 trucks, his new one is pretty stout, he won Freeport the second day this season. If anyone is familiar with that hook, they know it's always scetchy n most trucks have the back tires off the ground a handful of times that weekend. 1550s held up for most of those guys.

Rawdog said if I didn't come on here and post immediatly about how I destroyed a 1480 driveshaft and split a yoke last night he'd do it for me. So there you go, apparently when you get on a real bad a$$ track 1480s are not good enough LOL

ComnRailPwr 09-08-2018 08:54 AM

I went 1610 rear and 1480 front. It doesn't cost much more money at all to upgrade when building new shafts. I sourced all my own Spicer parts and took them to a local Napa to have the tubes welded to the yokes. Have about $1200 in both shafts. Rear tube is .134, front is .095. I don't want anymore driveline failures, that's the whole reason to go to ODL.

I switched to 1610 on the rear shaft at the axle after a failure of the 1550 yoke. 1610 Yoke, strap Kit, U-joint and weld in yoke was right at $300 from Greensburg Machine In Pa.
1610 stuff is truly 1 and done and Mark Petros has everything in stock.
