NHRDA Clay City KY

Whose all coming? I heard Jared and Dan will be there but haven't heard a word about it from any other pro racers. I couldn't foresee any west coast guys making the trip. Maybe NHRDA is trying to capture interest from ODSS racers? Thoughts?

I just heard about it this weekend at the Wagler event... They are not doing a very good job of promoting it are they?!?!?!?

I have several things on my schedule that weekend so I may not be able to juggle them around and make it... I guess we'll see in a couple weeks... It would be a bummer to drop something else and have it be a no-show event like the last NHRDA event held in this part of the country. Whether I make it there or not, I hope it is a successful event with good attendance!!!!

Last NHRDA event I remember this far east was Indy in 2014. A decent amount of trucks showed up but the spectator attendance was awful. With Clay City being in the middle of nowhere and a smaller track i wouldn't be surprised if it is a bust.

I think that is the one I remember too. At the drag strip there was a decent truck count. But the stands were empty (which they are large stands that are hard to fill for anything except for the US Nationals NHRA event) and I don't remember there being too many trucks running the dyno or faster classes.

The sled pull had a VERY low truck count, less than 20 trucks among all the classes if I remember correctly. But there was a decent crowd in the stands and in Vendor Row, not a huge crowd, but decent.

Hopefully this one goes better. Timing sucks for me though...

How did the NHRDA Event go???

Kyle and I were in Nashville at the Monster Jam event where the BroDozer Duramax-powered Monster Truck made its debut!!! It was a cool event and we had fun shooting it!!!

Heavy D (Dave Sparks) was driving the truck for his first time behind the wheel in competition and he did pretty good. He lost in the first round of racing, but had a decent time... He had put down one of the fastest times in practice Friday... Then in the 2-Wheel Skills Competition he did a good bicycle with the truck but, fell flat on his Stoppie attempt... He really shined in the Freestyle competition going out second he took the early lead and held on to it until the last few trucks ran, finishing in the top 5 for his first event...

The crowd seemed to like the diesel powered monster truck and we even saw a few kids with BroDozer plush toys!!! Also they had one of the longest autograph lines in the pit party with regular driver Colt Stephens not the Diesel Bros guys on hand when we got there in the afternoon!!! I'd say it was a BIG success for Diesel Performance!!!!

Of all the times I went to clay city, the left lane was ****. Seems like it was for this event, too.

Heard a lot of issues with the pull track, and the drag strip surface sucked. Not a huge fan of Heavy Douche being a face for diesel motorsports after his response in the article that came out for his debacle with a group in Utah but it is what it is. At least some great products went into that build.
