Long time reader, first time poster ?
Hello everyone! I have found many great pointers on this forum. I know this is my first post, but I already have a question for you all....

The apply lever broke in my 47rh 2 days ago. I saw a 2008 archived thread about someone who cut a small hole in the bellhousing to remove the pin without removing the whole transmission. However I cannot find any follow up on how that worked for him. Does anyone have any advice about this?

2nd gear apply lever pin is removed through the inside of the bellhousing...torque converter has to be out....take the trans out it’s pretty easy.

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate you taking the time to read and respond to my question! I am open to different ideas, although I did have major concerns about cutting a hole in the bellhousing. Yet pulling the tranny for such a simple repair is irritating
The parts will be in Thursday. Let you know how it goes....

Apply lever follow up

Hi guys, sorry it took so long to reply! Truck is fixed, it went well. Replaced with billet 3.8 lever strut and anchor from Goerend. Also installed improved lock up switch valve and billet accumulator piston from Sonnax.
I didn't cut a hole or remove the transmission..... I loosened and carefully slid transmission back by hand far enough to remove and reinstall the plug.
Thanks for your comments and advice.

That's actually pretty impressive. I've found I usually spend more time trying to do things like this over just doing it the right way, but that is a time consuming job for one man on the floor of his garage.
