Pay a shop to finish my project or sell it all???

Hi compD,

Ive been on here for a while and rarely post but here's my build:

Upgraded 12v rebuilt Running Cold - Competition Diesel.Com - Bringing The BEST Together

I am a 25 year old agriculture mechanic in California and have spent the last 5 years building my 1998 12v dodge. I was in the middle of swapping my entire drivetrain into a perfect condition 1998 quadcab shortbed when
I was diagnosed with Multiple Scleroses. Without getting into details it really knocked me on my ass.

I am unsure whether it is worth it to pay a shop to put it back together or if I would even be able to find the right person to do the work. Three places have already turned it down and I get it, no one wants to clean up someone else's mess. To make things worse, some neighbors dogs chased a cat into the engine compartment on the new truck and ripped out the under hood fuse box..... Bad luck:doh:

I have the gas shortbed drivetrain out but it needs:
- Wiring fixed
- manual swap done, pedals master cylinder
- brakelines and hydroboost
- diesel drivetrain installed

and if I do sell everything, what could I even honestly get for it?

If you took the time to read all of this thank you :Cheer:

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis; I actually have a friend/coworker with ms and I know it's not a walk in the park. As for the truck, I would sell it in pieces. If you have the time to do it, selling the parts individually would give you the best return by far.

Thank you for the reply. I have a pretty good idea what to sell everything for except the engine, what would be a fair price? 33k miles on the rebuild with the following mods:

Engine was bored .020 over
370 marine cam
155 Mahle pistons
Thicker gasket & studs
7x105 DAP inj
HE351 turbo ported
Fluidamper

Pump has; 4k gov springs
60lb valve springs
Benched to flow 400 Stock DVs

I'll keep your parts in mind. If you were not so far away I'd even consider making an offer.

I have a really good friend that received the same diagnoses 25 years ago. I do understand that there are differences in severity levels of the illness, but if it's any consolation, my buddy is doing good, and he's still the ball buster he always was.

Hate to hear about the MS diagnosis, stay positive and stay mentally strong. The rest will work it’s self out.
