Komatsu D39 dozer = 4BT??

We have a 15-20 year old Komatsu D39 dozer that lists its engine as a model SAA4D102-E, 3.9L, 240 CI, 95hp. I'm under the assumption that it's a 4bt that komatsu paints and calls their own, similar to other manufacturers of equipment. Is that correct?

The main reason I'm posting is to ask about oil consumption. It has between 5 and 6000 hours on it, but runs like a top. Starts easily, even in cold weather. It burns oil at approximately 1.5 qt an hour when used moderately hard. Always has a haze and smells like it too. No adverse conditions other than oil consumption.
One other important detail, it was in a flood just before we bought it. I had to replace the turbo, which appeared original. I'm assuming it needs liners, pistons and rings. But is there something that I should be checking on first?

I suppose I'm only assuming its not the turbo. Really did not put a bunch of hours on it prior to it failing.

hows blow-by? Any Crankcase pressure retrictions? Air Filter? That is about it except for a Head/ Ring Issue

That's the other thing, no blow by. If it had blow by, wouldn't hardly start, etc I wouldn't even ask.

At my last job, we had one of those, or very similar. The komatsu engine looked very very similar to a 4bt but wasn't even rebranded 4bt. All made by komatsu. There were about 3-4 engine options but naturally, the one we had was the "rare" one in the US and hard to get parts for. Had almost a 10 week wait on parts to rebuild. Long block was like a 6-8 week wait.

The one we had broke rings if I remember right and wouldn't hardly pull itself into shop. During rebuild we rebuilt the head and found quite a few damaged valve seals. Just something to think about.

Valve stem seals.
