Food for thought:
It was explained to me that on GM applications, for safety, there are 3 variable resistors in the accelerator system....and they all have to work within 3 distinct ranges (correlated) or the computer senses a fault....and I dunno what it does from there. It's pretty obvious that failing wide open would be disastrous, so that's why it's made complex on purpose.
So when you have thoughts of secondary harnesses, splices, etc....you may want to try and get a schematic and see what kind of logic is being applied in your truck.
