1971 Chevelle Duramax Swap and Build

Russ received the chevelle and is already working on it! Also, we are thinking about making some alterations to the original plan in my first post. Something like OD, Lockup and more air...

Russ is making GREAT progress! The frame has been blasted and coated with POR 15, SPC uppers and lowers installed, new spindles and front discs are on, new strange 9" arrived and installed, new UMI uppers, lowers and frame braces have been installed.

The 4L80E has been ordered from Jake and should be ready in the next few weeks.

I believe Russ is going through the engine now to make sure everything is 100%

With any luck he will mock up with a core engine and trans and get mounts made this week!

All in all, I cannot say enough good things about Russ and RPM!

The built LBZ is almost done!

Engine and trans mounts have been mocked up with a block and spare 4L80e!

Russ is doing great work! Still hoping to be racing in a couple months.

Paul

What color is that? I honestly don't mind the wheels.

Same here. Most of those cars that looked that way weren't considered performance, so to speak. Leave it like it is and it would make an really nice sleeper. You can always add wheels later. lol

Lol the wheels will most likely be staying for now. I have a different set of wheels for the slicks.

IF or when I upgrade wheels it wont be till next spring unless I get an amazing deal.

Thank you all. We had a serious hold up with the trans taking an extra 6 weeks....long story there and no fault of Russ. He should finally be able to start on it again this week.

Yes, I should have been more specific, this is Russ in Los Banos, CA (RPM).
