Trans gurus- found a bleed holes for the 2nd gear servo. Should I plug it?

SCHMITTY

Not enough time
I'm assembling a 47re for a friend today and I was testing the servo with air. I noticed the pin doesn't come out as far and then I found a bleeder hole that I don't recal seeing before on other builds. This tranny is going in an 03' with a smarty and a 64mm so I'd like the band to apply fully.

I'm thinking about putting a pipe plug in it.

What do you guys think ? The hole is at the tip of the screw driver

Here's a closer pic. If I put my finger over the bleed hole the pin comes out like it should. Maybe with the fluid being thicker than air it will still push the pin out ?

That's a factory hole, I can't say that I've ever blocked it to test and see how the band servo reacted, but proceed at your own risk!!! Those are the type of mod you try on a personal tranny/test mule that you're not afraid to pull again if it acts weird.

Thanks

I was thinking about it today and the servos in other trannys that I have air checked have come out as far. I never noticed that hole before.

I dumped some atf down the hole where you put the air. The servo pin came out as it should. Too much fumes form the brakleen I guess..
