DT360 into 1991 F350

Any future plans for the truck or just going to drive the piss out of it? Any regrets staying with the ZF trans? I've been contemplating doing something similar but the adapter costs make me look at medium duty truck trans.

My thought is that with a crew cabs wheelbase a divorced setup with equal length drive shafts might be possible. You might even be able to offset the rear driveshaft like the front. I've driven an old jeep with offset front and rear drive shafts. It was handier at keeping the pumpkin of rocks than I would have guessed. Probably overkill for a street oriented rig.

Other than the leak I love the zf. Getting a bigger turbo soon, going to upgrade the clutch (this one is oil soaked) and swap gears in the zf with a big block one for the lower first gear. On my Travelette I centered the divorced case and have equal length front and rear shafts. When that's done I'd like to get some miles on it and maybe p pump it then swap it's go fast goodies too the DT360. Just enjoying driving it now. About 10k miles logged. 6k of that towing. Lol

I'm looking to do this in my 02 super poopy, I know our body styles are nowhere near similar but what are some tips before I start? I was planning on putting a 10 speed behind it since I have onboard air to change ranges. It looks like you can haul some serious azz with this beast! Is it mostly a factory engine besides your gov springs etc?
Sam.

Factory other than bumped up. not really sure what tips I can give other than measure everything up good and take your time. Once I got the ball rolling it fell into place.

Beauty thanks! Be sure to post your power results if you ever get the old gal on a dyno or next time you do a pull!

Very nice! I'm toying the idea of compound turbos, I have a garrett off my 94 turbo IDI that I could use as my high pressure turbo feeding the larger factory turbo. It would likely increase boost a bit plus seriously improve lag. Thoughts?

I'm not familiar with compound setups. I know I wouldn't keep the stock turbo though.

Had a good weekend at the Bloomsburg jamboree. Hauled down my friend's F500 to use for a pool. Was a blast. Ran the ford on the dyno. Don't think it was a loaded dyno. Hp was where I thought, torque was way low. 231/332.

...waiting for the video to upload.

Then Sunday I hauled a 12,000 pound machine, no sweat!

Got a hx35/40 hybrid with a billet HE351 compressor wheel. Just have to get an exhaust flange and oil feed line. Should help out a bit.

Pulled at one of the local fairs. I was being gentle on the clutch so it bogged down a little off the line, got back on the clutch and revved it up then got off the clutch again. Track was way more sticky than I expected. Didn't build boost till half track, by then the weight was up. I was pleased with 245 feet and nothing broken. Should light off much better with the 35/40 hybrid when I swap it on.

Finally swapped the HX35/40 hybrid. Had to flip the exhaust manifold to get more clearance on the compressor side. Definitely woke the truck up. It'll hit about 35 psi and pulls all the way through 5th no sweat. Can't wait to hook to the trailer now. Actually hooking to the pulling sled Wednesday, we'll see how it lights up.

Did some towing with the hybrid turbo. Not a fan. Way too much heat. Looking for a S366.we'll see what I come up with.

Swapped out the ****ty 35/40 hybrid for the S360 I had on the 466. Bought a S366 and figured it may be a bit much for the DT360. It's perfect on there. Much more power, 35+ psi, as low egts. Was playing around before the pulls to see if I could launch in 3rd low.... That resulted in a broken front yoke!

Within an hour I had it slammed back together.

But, made it to the pulls and second gear low was good, made it 287 feet! Was stoked. Much better setup now. Just need to upgrade the front shaft to some 1350s now.
