Pulling Order

How is the pulling order decided at brush pulls and some of the larger events? I went to a local fair pull and had to sit through two hours of stock gassers and junk, many could not move the sled 50'. The crowd went from standing room only to about 50% capacity, everyone with children left. Seemed to me spectators want to see the diesels but they are the "black sheep" when they should be hooking at primetime.

They put us last for a reason, thats what people want to see. So the longer they sit around the more money they make off of beer and food, the local fair boards arent dumb...

Here the stock gas and diesel trucks run the same weight in the box, just different gear on the box and pan trip, same goes for the super stock gas and super street diesel. The 12 tractor classes are what slow the shows down most of the time.

x2 without the profit from the food and beer a sled pull isnt worth putting on for somebody tryin to build funds

Thats how it goes here, stock not so exciting stuff first then all the big stuff at midnight. The part i dont like around here is wether its stock tractors or pro stock gassers(or what ever gas class it is) that they let pull twice, they run the twice before the diesels or big shot gassers run there once and only time. I think they should run each class straight thru, what ever the order and then the guys that can run twice get there second round later.

We started running three gas classes that 90% of them are boring as all H3ll to watch then we run some of the Mod Diesels as a kind of here is what you wanna wait for kinda thing. They re-gear the sled but dont put the growsers down or add weight so every one of us pull it through the gates. It made a bid diff on the amount of people that stick around for the end. Also makes some of the gassers that think they are big and bad keep their mouths shut! A lot of the gassers got kinda mad cuz it said it makes them look bad but at least there is still a crowd at the end of the show. I dont care how much you are in to sled pulling it gets old watching a bunch of stock gasers pulling a sled to 200 feet. The first ten are ok then everyone gets bored.

What takes up the time? Are they antiques running 3 MPH or alotta hooks? Are truck classes take longer than the tractors here but we ain't running antique tractor classes.

Yes the antique tractors are what really drag a show down. I love watchin the farm stock tractors though. 10mph classes are 100 times better than the old 2 cylinders putt puttin down the track...

Another thing with the gasser classes is usually you have 1-3 of them drop a driveshaft and have to be towed off the track, or they're not lined up and your waiting for them to get on the track

Agreed and seems like when one breaks something 10 of his buddies are poppin the Hood and crawling under the truck whiles its on the track. ITS BROKE! GET IT OFF THE TRACK!
