3.0 with a stepped cover and a 1/4 map. LOL Now wonder some people are putting 30' on the rest on the field.

I think you see my point. You have 3.0 trucks that are buying a stepped cover with a big map and pulling 2.6 class. The way the turbo rule is now there is little difference in power for these guys.
 
Pulling is an expensive sport, stop *****in and spend money if you want to win. No matter what rule you make there will be guys spending insane amounts of money to stay at the top. Rules made to make pulling more affordable is retarded.

I agree with Bean's MotorSports is a money deal, if you want to win spend the money. If you dont have the money do it for fun. I got lots of money in my truck after this winter in havnt won all summer, dont see me *****in about it.
 
When they drop 2.8 most if not all of them will buy a magic cover and pull 2.6. Now if 3.0 class goes open drive line how many of them will do the same. A cover is cheap compared to changing drive line.
 
Protrusion is not the answer either. I can take an 80mm wheel and knock 1/8th inch of the compressor fins off and get it to fit into a 2.6 inducer. Then right behind that 1/8th inch put in a step out the the original 80mm wheel and have a 1/4 map groove allow the air into the big part of the wheel. Hp will be the same. Difference is I just dropped $5,000 on a turbo. I will pull both classes in the same night because my turbo will make just as much power at the 3.0 trucks that have "cheap" turbos on.

5K??? Geez.....that is ridiculous for a turbo.

Rule should state, 2.6" tip to tip...no notching or stepped covers. Use the same rules as the gas guys do in the Outlaw and Limited street classes.

Then you get into contoured wheels. LOL

Of course I know of 1 setup that seems to be ok working with a contoured wheel.

The other folks that I know that tried the high trim compressor wheels have either sold them or have at least taken them off of the trucks.
 
Exducer limit is the only way to "fix" the 2.6" class.

Untill somebody is willing to tech it though and an exducer limit becomes the rule, all this other talk is pissing in the wind.

Yeah I talked to the guys that build my turbos, they recommend not running small inducer size with big exducer sizes above a certain margin. Their is a mathematical equation for it they use, but apparently it creates a lot of heat and turbulence going above that margin. I guess limit the exducer, then stick to comp wheel design.....

"Any puller can buy any other pullers turbo up to 2 hours the class is finished pulling at each event, for the set price of $1500."

Hell yes! I'd be all over that. Maybe go ahead and say 2k... But this is a hell of an idea!

Good luck getting anybody else to go for it though.
