My P24V build

Stainless Diesel manifold, with some nice stainless steel studs and nuts holding it to the head. Makes installation a breeze.

I can't stress enough how much loath having a handshaker in this truck. Even more so that it's an nv4500...

Redneck engineered coolant bypass using a watts 530C pressure relief valve, ED billet freeze plug, ED thermostat spacer, and some AN lined and fittings.

And some braided covers for the heater core lines since I wasn't to enthusiastic about having rubber coolant lines so close to the manifold. Yeah, it looks goofy kinda... well, a lot, but until I come up with a better solution, they'll work.

Upon further research, I found that the 50PSI opening pressure, while better than nothing, is not as good as I can get it. I have since located one that has a 25psi opening pressure that will be better suited for this task.

And yeah, I cut the lines a little long, but I fully intend to cut a few more inches off of everything.

Compounds finished.

Wasn't too thrilled about how the powder coating turned out either, was supposed to be a nice polished aluminum finish, but came out a crummy gray color. Luckily, the shop was cool about it and even they said that it didn't come out right. But, since I was pressed for time at this point, I had no choice but to accept it, and they only charged me for material for the trouble.

BD intercooler mounted up. A little pricey compared to others, but fitment was perfect, so I don't mind paying extra for the convenience of ease of installation. I've heard HORROR stories about the ON3 intercoolers, so I'm glad I spent the extra money.

And this is where I'm at now. Yeah, I know I'm going to catch hell for the purple, and that's ok lol.

To get y'all completely up to speed...

The 62/475 has grown boring, so I'm preparing for a bigger setup. Somewhere around a 64/482 or 64/484 setup, and ditch the 7x0.012s for some of Weston's 6x0.018s. And an auto swap of course. Bottom line, I want to be competitive in the 10.90 index, AND milk this 180 for all it's worth. If I can get this truck down to 5,000lbs race weight, and be in the 850-900 neighborhood, I think I might be able to pull it off.

Stage 3 180 from Seth. Really regret not going with the 7mm, but i already had the 024s from my 12V, and I doubt the extra 10cc would have made THAT big of a difference.

I wanted to note that I DO have a plate, just had to provide my own since the pump I sent to Seth didn't have one.

Diesel World Finals last year in Ennis TX. 4 hour round trip seemed suitable for a maiden voyage. Not a single hiccup, minus some parking lot AFC adjustments along the way.

I can't get over how sharp this little pickup is, for a 2nd gen anyways. Not bad for 17 year old paint.

That's a sharp looking truck!!! Definitely on my to-do list someday to build a shorty 2wd play truck with a 12v of course, but I can't hate, at least you have a proper injection pump in that rig!!!
