'01 VW ALH build

SKYNYRD

"Drunkard"
So for back ground I bought this '01 VW a few years back and it had some white smoke and blow by when I bought it. Figured it was a cracked ring, well it was actually that the #2 piston had hit the cylinder wall and come to find out the valve guides were shot. I have finally found some time to start getting this car back together.

Mod list as follows:
New AMC head
ARP head studs
Colt stage 2 cam
steel bottom oil pan
h-beam forged rods
.5mm over pistons ceramic and teflon coated
Girdle with arp main studs
Panzer skid plate
Front mount intercooler
vr6/1.8T spindle kit
332x32mm two piece cross drilled and slotted rotors for the front
4-piston calipers front
306x22mm two piece cross driller and slotted rotors for the rear
H&R 26mm front and 28mm rear sway bars
Strut tower brace
lower front brace
energy suspension poly bushings
5 speed to 6 speed conversion
limited slip differential
diesel geek short shifter
egr delete

Still need to order:
clutch
injectors
turbo
exhaust
:lolly:

:snoop:

Thanks for sharing. I bought the wife an '01 for Christmas this year. My plans are to A-pump it (fully mechanical injection) and my HP goal is 300HP for a daily driver.

I'll be watching.

Cool you have my interest....LOVE ALH builds.
I currently have a '03 Jetta Wagon ALH 5spd.
Fresh timing belt, Colt Stage 2 cam kit, PD 150 Intake with EGR & cooler delete, has some small (probably .205 nozzles), and a malone stage 3 ECM tune. I'm eventually going bigger clutch, nozzles, tune, SMIC, turbo figure 200ish HP will make a nice daily driver not that it already isn't. :hehe:

I'm fighting the urge to take it to my local muffler shop and chop it off at the cat and run 2.5" straight back.... it was an ALL original black leather unmolested car until my friend I bought it from got it 2 years ago. 300,000 miles on the ticker and its still running like a top!

The only thing I would be afraid of running a straight pipe is drone highway driving!

My MK4 Golf I had was straight piped from the weekend I bought it... it was never an issue until I upgraded to a hybrid turbo and the drone was so HORRIBLE I added a 12" glasspack under the car.

I'm so hesitant to screw with this car because its running so great right now, but the CAT needs to fall off and then at that point the muffler is in question. LOL

I straight piped my Mega last year and it was fine until I added a entertainment system for the kids then we realized we couldn't hear it in the cab. I just got the local muffler shop I'm friends with to install a take off 3rd Gen oem muffler last week and seems to be JUST RIGHT! But no trips taken in the truck yet.

Would anyone know the durability of the these little fella at 300HP. We need to get Andy2 involved over here. He's the fella with the 9000rpm gulf.

I'm in! Let me know when you're ready to build mine for me too!! lol

My 163 whp is getting old....Yet still Fun :)

Swole I have a complete spare motor and trans sitting in the garage that I picked up out of the junk yard for $250.

Well I just bought some more toys for this build.
Bosio PP764 (7 hole) injector nozzles
11mm injection pump
old man intake
AFE prodry filter
dual valve spring kit
3 bar map sensor

Same injectors I have.
Wished I had an 11mm pump though. What'd that cost?

WHERE THE FAWK did you find and OMI? I've been searching for a used one since I bought my Wagon last fall! :bang:

Kerma's been sold out and the once plentiful used market dried up. I knew I should have pulled the one I had off my golf when I sold it! Snagged that one for an even $100.

Same injectors I have.

They typically run $300-500 used depending on mileage and if they have been resealed recently.

Back doored Kerma through their 190hp package kit.

350-400HP is when they start splitting the blocks. Safe to say I most likely won't break the 300hp mark. I'd be happy with a solid car between 250-300 HP
