Single good for 9s?

Update: I traded my 476 for a FI485/96/1.1 T4. I took it for drive a couple days ago on the street and it is definately laggy, but I think it will do better on the track. I built 20psi from a stall in under 10secs with no nitrous.

One day Id like to have a GTX55 but this will have to do in the mean-time.

Did some testing this weekend, ran a 10.70 @ only 120mph because it fell off the charger in OD. I need to hold 3rd gear a little longer, should have mid 10s in it on fuel and hopefullt low 10s on nitrous.

I did get a 1.62 sixty foot on my wore out Nitto 420s, it would be interesting to see what it is capable of on nitrous with some nice drag radials.

My little girl thought it was fast anyway, haha "Wooow"

Your daughters “woow” at the end is priceless! Made me laugh.

What’s your setup? I see in the video description it’s stock bottom end. What year engine? Still a complete truck or gutted?

Haha yessir, she loves the races.

Its an 03 with a bone stock bottom end, stock cam and all with a mildly ported head and 220k miles. The truck weighs 6500lb with me in it and has no interior, but the bed and everything else is in tact.

I think if I could loose another 500lbs and spray it, the truck may run a high 9. I am slowly gathering parts for a built engine, probably a sleeved 6.4 with more head work.

I did some more tuning yesterday trying to get the turbo to spool faster. I got it down to 7 seconds from idle to 20psi. I am going to wire in a spool jet to take some stress off the converter.

Those big chargers are definitely harder to stay on top of. That is one reason I like going a little smaller on the turbo. We've gone 10.49 @ 127 with a box 72sxe on fuel in a 7000lb truck. With spray the same truck went 10.03 @ 139. It spools almost instantly and the truck never falls under the turbo. Really good drag racing setup.

Very nice, what size jet was that on? I assume that is with an external gate as well? I also want something that will last, I make about 50-60 passes in a season.

That was a .42 jet on a WOT foot trigger and a .88 jet on a button. I don't know exactly when the driver hit the big stage on the run, but it was pretty early lol. Yes it's got a big turbonetics 60mm swing gate. This turbo had 1.5 seasons on it then had a refresh. Ran all this season with no issues. We put on an average of 80 passes per year and this truck sees about 8-10k street miles. Oil changes are done every 1500 miles and we run Joe Gibbs DP-40 in it. The refresh of the turbo showed a little bit of coking on the bearings with minimal wear on the thrust. For a box turbo it's treated us extremely well and does everything we need from it.
