2wd Steering Upgrades

"That Guy"
After 260k miles, and a gear housing leak. My steering is shot!

I have been looking for upgraded steering components (like beefyer tie rods, heim joints, ext). I havnt had any luck finding parts for a 2wd.

anyone have any ideas??

What Daniel said.

No reason for heavier on a 2WD. Stockers are heavy enough. You might find some high quality ball joints somewhere if you want to pay for them. Moogs have been fine for me. I have seen where somebody's supposed to have a high quality steering gear available now. You might check Geno's Garage.

sweet! i looked at replacing all the steering joints with moog. figure id better look into all options before spending $500.

so no need for heim joint rod ends on a 2wd ?

Yes, those are tie-rods and tie-rod ends. All trucks have them, 2WD and 4X4.

Like we've said, no need for heavier duty. Moogs will serve you just fine.

I understand all dodge pickups have tie rod ends. I was wondering if would be beneficial to upgrade to heim joints (like on some aftermarket 4wd kits).

The rock crawler in me says "get the beefyest parts possable". However, no use in fixing what isnt broke....

No insult intended. Just didn't understand the use of heim joints on the 2WD. Like you said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
