can someone post some pics and details on how they like their kit? i am looking at doing this on my reg cab long box 2500 truck and doing it mainly for the ride, not really offroad. this thing being so light i guess sucks ass on the road. if i hit a pot hole its like i just hit a barrier and is ruff riding for sure. was looking at the starter kit from carli but really like the 2.0 reviews but wanted to see how you guys liked your 2.0 setups.
 
I installed a 2.5 pintop kit on a 2011 dodge. Truck rode awesome. Have also done lot's of starter kits as well. No complaints with the ride ever. The bumpier the road gets, the smoother the carli is.
 
I was looking at the starter kit but figured if I am going to spend the money might as well get the 2.0 truck is an everyday driver that's also a hunting slash play truck . How much does the kit lift the truck. Already has a 2.5 levels kit on which will come off with this new kit . Nit really looking for a big lift kit just a great all around riding system

I would go with the pin top kit but its not made for a second Gen truck

The carli kits lift it 3 inches in the front and 1.5 inches in the rear. The only advantage to a king over the bilstein is it won't fade as quick on rough terrain. Although it's going to take alot to make either of them fade. I haven't done a 2.0 kit yet so I can't comment on the ride difference between the two. I do know that the bilstein 5100's in the starter kit ride really nice. The truck that had the king shocks in it was able to dampen the sharper bumps a bit more then the bilsein 5100's would. The main components that create the ride of the carli systems are the coils and mini packs or full deaver leaves in the rear. The shocks just complement them.

Well the sharp bumps and potholes are what's killing me lol may just gave to go with the pin top setup

well just talked to pat over at carli and the absolute best setup for what i use the truck for he recommended the pintop setup with full leafs in the rear. wasnt planning on spending that much but guess i will just have to save up for another month and bite the bullet.
 
I take it this is going on your 98? I got just under 3" of lift with mine. Some where around 2.75, but Im only guessing. I haven't take measurments. Im only running their front Multi Rate Hemi/Diesel Coils and their control arms.

I should have some pictures on here some where and in my photobucket account. Im at work and it blocks photobucket so I cant link them at the moment.

It's pricey. But you will love it.

Yeah going in the 98 truck. Yup its pricey but you get what you pay for lol. Just tired of this light truck beating me up. I am a huge fan of second Gen reg cabs and not looking to buy a new one so might as well make mine comfortable

I don't think you'll regret the money spent at Carli. They have top-notch stuff.

I have 2.65 Bilstein kit on my '06, along with LT bags, sway bar, BJs, full leaves, rear bumps, etc, etc.

Whats your truck scale in at? My RC '98 is about 7200 lbs with me in it. Thats an extra 300 more than my QC dually.

Don't know never scaled it but it sure feels light expecially with this aluminium flat bed

I ran a KORE lift on mine and I can tell you that going with the full leaf packs in the back is something you'll never regret, aside from having to install them (they weight a ton) I went with the bilstein shocks and it's night and day differance over stock. Running 37's and they clear fine and rides like a dream.

Basically the same kit design as the Carli. Lorenz industries also makes a really nice kit using the sway-a-way shocks which I've yet to hear anything bad about. Might want to check them out also

Haven't heard anyone complain about either kit, but was talking to a friend who says the control arms are really needed to keep the axle where it's supposed to be. Anybody have any reasons why not having newer control arms would be bad, or anybody by longer arms from a different kit and just put them on with a Carli or KORE kit? New to suspension, looking for any experience or knowledge I can to absorb

Both Carli and Kore offer longer control arms. The Carli's are fixed at ~ 1/2" longer. The Kore Hybrid Race CAs are adjustable. With 37s and stock CAs, you can get rubbing on the rear of the front fender.
