The Industrial Injection 1989+ 5.9L/6.7L Cummins Engine Rebuild Kits are designed to make your life a little easier by putting everything you need to properly rebuild and reseal your engine all in one spot. From stock to a full on race performance rebuild we give you the options to make it happen.

Bearings:

These H and HX Clevite bearings were developed primarily for use in NASCAR type racing but are suitable for all types of competition engines.

H Series:

H series bearings have a medium level of eccentricity, high crush and rod bearings have a hardened steel back and thin overlay. These bearings also have enlarged chamfers for greater crankshaft fillet clearance and are made without flash plating for better seating.

HX Series:
The HX series bearings have and .001” extra clearance
The biggest benefit of coated bearings is preventing damage during cold starts and events where oil starvation is evident. Starting your car is almost the worst thing you can do as the oil has had time to drain out of the engine back into the pan. The oil is cold and thicker and takes time to get circulated throughout the engine, including to the crank bearings. The added dry film lubricant coating acts as a barrier between the bearing surface and the crank journal. Other benefits are less friction and longer bearing and crank journal life. The special coating also has moly and other ingredients that retain oil rather than repel it.
This coating process was developed for and is used in race engines, and applied to street and daily-use cars to help yield more durable engines.

Pistons:

24 Valve Mahle Piston. std., .020, .040 Oversized W/ Rings, Wrist pins & Clips

Fly Cut (valve relief): (F)
Flycuting is a machining Process we use to add Piston to valve Clearance, when using High lift camshaft.

Chamfering: (C)

Our performance Cummins pistons are Chamfered (The top is tapered to help avoid swelling and Scuffing the Cylinder Wall.)

Skirt and Top Coating: (C)
PDM’s Ceramic Piston Skirt Coating, is designed to be used, on any rigid or semi rigid surface experiencing sliding, rotating or oscillating friction. This coating will carry loads in excess of 350,000 PSI as well as lubricate at temperatures in excess of 1600f. This coating combines the durability of a ceramic resin with the lubricity of the ceramic lubricant. It is used in applications where high temperatures, high loads and high speeds are experienced. When higher temperatures, than most other types of coatings can provide protection at, are experienced, this coating is fully capable of carrying the load. Gray in color it acquires a glass like finish in use. Cured film thickness of “.001” or less requires no change is piston clearance.
PDM’s Thermal Barrier Coating for piston tops is designed for Performance engines running; Nitrous oxide, supercharged or Turbocharged. It creates a hard surface specifically designed for engines running High volumes of fuel and/or high compression ratios. The thermal barrier coating. Reduces part temperature. Keeps heat in combustion chamber longer through the power stroke. Increase torque, H.P. and improved combustion chamber efficiency.
