Gathering up some parts, need some help!

I have guy that has a complete core out of a 95 auto truck that has a knock. It comes with the pump, and i'm wondering if that would be a good pump to ppump my 24v with. I have just started getting into P-pumps and read a lot on here about them. I just wanna make sure I dont start myself off in the hole.

There's a lot of people that make good power with 160/175 pumps..my pump started as a 175 and I had Seth build it using one of Hamiltons v2 cams..its a totally different truck

I did a lot of reading about the 160 pump that this would have on it and it looks like there's a lot of guys making pretty big power out of them with some work done to them. I figured 750 for a complete core engine with a pump is a good way to get ahead on my swap. Thank you for the reassurance!

I made 675hp with a 175hp pump with 4k springs, rack plug, turned barrels and 191s. It drove nice and smooth on the street as well.

I read your conversion thread the other day, awesome write up, probably what is making me bite the bullet and just do it! Id like to be at 700-800 with compounds that would clean up ok on the street.

My goal this year is to break 800hp on fuel and have it be real clean on the street. Setup is 180 pump, 024s, 6x13s, and a 64/80 twin setup. Got a funky Trans problem right now that I need to find time to iron out then we'll see how it runs with the new twin setup.

It can definitely be done with careful choosing of parts.

Thats very similiar to the setup i was thinking... I have 7x11 with a 63, was thinking a 78 or 80 to match should do it. Maybe if funds a allow, billet wheels.

My friend made 770hp on my old 160 pump off my 95. It had CDS 5Ks, racked barrels, 024DVs, and 32* timing. That was still with the factory cam in the pump too. It was the weirdo CPL 1968 pump though. California emissions and used the different timing chart.

I ended up finding out by the part # that it's a 180 pump. Im sending it out to Seth this week. Wasn't expecting to start on this so soon but I have most of the parts, and what I don't have is on the way. I got ppump fever I guess :lolly:

I got the pump of the core engine, after some further research it seems as though it maybe a 175hp pump, can any one confirm for me?

that I couldn't tell you. im sure with the right turbo(s), and fuel anything is possible..im the last guy to give advice on that. my 500+ build was lucky to put down 350, I had a lot ALOT of stuff that wasn't as advertised and has since been fixed but its all just a game of tuning and tinkering..from what I've gathered it boils down to how much hands on time your willing to put into it especially with the p pump. good luck on your build and keep us informed on what you got going I know I'm interested in what you can come up with

Got in touch with Seth today and decided to use this as a core and get a worked 180 pump. Price difference wasn't much so I figured lets do it right for my power goals the first time around. Happy I went with him, seems like a hell of a nice guy!

Air Dog left me stranded for the last time last night! Really fed up with the electric lift pump setups. Can never go more then a year without having an issue. I've decided to go with a Waterman pump mounted on a billet front cover. Have done a lot of reading on them and they seem to be holding up well on the street from what I see, and I just so happen to have one laying around from my old mans sprint car. I see some people have issues getting the proper pressure throughout the rpm band. I have a regulator that's good to 150 psi as well, I dont see a reason why I just couldn't run the reg between the Waterman and the P7100 with a return back to the tank. Any one run something similar?
