Dodge free wheel hubs?

Can't be those. They look more like the longer ones you posted above. Here's a screen shot I took on a YouTube video posted above:

Looks like the longer ford shaft with the bulk machined off by the end yoke

My thoughts are that once bonus checks come out in November, mine is going to a free-spin kit for my '09 Dodge. I'll do all the ball joints at the same time. It's gonna suck, but I'm ready for 2wd low and better econ even if it is .5 mpg more.

Keep posting junk. No one has mentioned Dynatrac that I've seen. What about them?

Post 30. Slacker!!

So if I convert my 06 to the ford hubs can I run my stock stub shaft? What confuses me is that his kits for my year include a new stub shaft but in a customers video who installed them on an 06 he uses the stock shafts.

I don't think it will work with the Ford unit bearings. They are an inch bigger in diameter than the dodge bearings. I looked up the timkin specs that Rockauto had.

All it takes is custom stub shafts, talked to Branik and they could supply everything.

Machined unit bearings for 35spline stubs

4340 moly 35 spline stubs at 9.4" oal

locked slugs

Around $1200

Upon searching even more it looks like my thoughts are right. He's using Ford SuperDuty unit bearings, redrilling them to 8x6.5 bolt pattern, and the MileMarker locking hub kits he includes fit multiple setups including 99+ Ford. The only thing I haven't figured out for sure yet is if the stub shaft included is just a stock Ford stub shaft or if any of it is custom. I have a friend who has a Ford SD front axle laying around he's planning on converting his truck to 4wd so when I have time we will tear into it and find out.

Timken SD unit bearings are $173 ea on RockAuto
MileMarker 449 locking hub set is $157 on PartsGeek
Stub shaft yet to be determined $100 to $200 each online

Video of customers install on his youtube channel though uses the same stub shaft U-joint as stock.

In the first video he does mention that you just have to swap out the unit bearing on the 09s and up and not the stub shafts.

So I've decided since it's going to be outrageous either way I'm going with a bolt on spindle kit with some upgraded lightweight stuff just for the fact that ultimately it's stronger than any unit bearing hub.

That's probably the route I'm going too.
For what year of truck?

For an 08.

So will this give you a free spin hub still?

And yes there kit will give you free spin still. But I would rather go with the big bearing kits then if it's not saving any money to go with the unit bearing route.

Well I bought a Yukon kit. It's pretty nice and was easy to install. I just recommend to get new u joints. I never can keep from braking them uninstalling them. They do stick out and inch or so. Spacers will fix that problem. But I'm happy over all.

So.....is the Yukon the way to go...what is the general consensus? I think I'm getting close to doing this. The truck needs all new ball joints pretty bad as well.

So I'm confused.........

The Ram Man documentation......
