Stance, suspension and wheel/ tire combos

Looking for some insight and some pictures!

I have a 2003 2500, 4x4. Long term goal is 800 hp, two turbos and take it to the drag strip now and again. Not looking for power combos right now though. Looking to get the stance of the truck right. I am a short guy (5'-5") and the tail gate sits quite high. It comes up to the bottom of my rib cage. So... I want to get it lower in both the front and the rear. I was thinking I could take out the blocks in the rear to achieve the height I want, but has anyone ever replace the springs for a better ride? Reduced the number of leaves or had springs re-arched for a lower stance?

What about the front end? I have read over and over again about cutting a coil out, but again how do we go about improving ride. Looking for something a little smoother.

Looking for wheel and tire combos too. I would like to put 20" wheels on it, but I'm not having much luck finding a variety of styles. It seems like 18" are the biggest, most common, most available. I am looking for something basic. Not looking for these big soup bowl wheels or flashy wheels.

Thoughts? Pictures and descriptions will help immensely!

Depending how low you want it, I would start by removing the blocks and overloads in the rear. That will soften the ride and lower it about 1.5". Google "reverse level" for instructions.

In my opinion the best/cheapest thing you can do to help the ride in the front is remove the sway bar, made a huge difference in mine. You can always put it back on if you dont like it.

I dont want to go so low things are dragging on the ground, but like I said, I'm a short, sawed off troll. I'd like it a bit lower, and level. I'd like to close the gap between the tire and the fender.

Which spring is the overload spring? Do I have to pull the center pin, pull the spring and install a new center pin?
 
The overloads on a 2500 are the thick straight leaf on the bottom on the pack. You will need a new center pin, I have just used bolts before and rounded the head off with a grinder. There should be a couple small spacers you can remove as well.
