Common Email Questions//Answers

Answers to questions I have routinely been asked lately…

What is the diameter of the FAT input shaft?

Competition Diesel.Com - Bringing The BEST Together

Actually the current splines run about 1 to 1.5 thou smaller than the ones in the picture. Since conception in July 2006 no truck has twisted the TC splines. However the spline that goes into the piston hub had to be enlarged in 2007. As it turned out in the real world the piston retainer splines need to be larger than the splines that go into the TC.
The shaft diameter into the piston retainer is 1.3” and yes…If required in the future any part of the FAT input shaft can be enlarged.

How much does the Fat shaft combination of parts go for?

To my knowledge the retail is in the $2500 neighborhood.

When are mechanical fuel pumps going to start going out again?

The plan is to only make/sell the bracket assembles and list all the other required plumbing and required part numbers/vendors for the rest of the kit. But this will not happen until some current manufacturing obligations has been fulfilled.

Will IE make Coolant Bypasses again now that the pirated version of the kit is no longer available? That answer will have to wait until the end of Summer but logistics are already in the works.

Is it true that there are new 68RE parts being tested?
Yes and the focus isn’t only on the strongest trans but having the most affordable cost to boot.

When are head studs coming out?
Sorry but that one turned out to be not cost effective to justify doing.
