29 spline input

Before I tear apart my truck this weekend to install my firepunk stage3 trans. I ordered the 29 spline input for the transfer case do I have to change any seals or bearings on the transfer case its self. One more thing if I order the input from firepunk are they cut already?

I ordered one from PDD and paid extra to go ahead and have it cut. Also remember the new 29 spline input comes without the inner plug in the back of it. I didn't notice when I first installed and my transcase would overfill from the trans transferring fluid thru the coupler and overflow out of the vent. You can reuse the stock block off plug out of the 23 spline.

Nice thanks. That gives me a little more confidence on swapping out that spline input and transmission.

It's also no big deal to cut it yourself with a big cutoff wheel on a grinder. Or a good belt saw. It doesn't need to be .002 exact or a precision cut.

Oh no it didnt work. The new 29 spline is too long and it doesn't fit into the bearing or the seal part the first jump. Maybe I was tired any more input would be great

You have to cut it to the same length as your original 23spline. The new 29 spline input to the t case.

Also there is an inner bearing and a plug behind that in the original 23 spline input that you'll have to swap over also. I tapped mine out with a socket that's the same diameter.

Ok so cut it down to length and change out the bearing to a bigger inner diameter and different seal. Should I just get the seal and bearing that goes on a actual manual xcase.
I included a picture to ask a another question too.
I think I posted these pic already but the new shaft doesn't have the flat spot on it like the original shaft. There is a arrow pointing at it. I should just ask what seal number and bearing part# if you have them on hand.

I see what happen now! I'm comparing the different 29 splines online and I think I was sent a nv271 29 spline input. The 29 splines for the 241dld dont have a step down on the end they are all the same size from gear to to tip.

I was just about to post that it looks like you have a newer 3rd gen transfer case input, not the older 241 series you need.

I know I was looking at torqueking website and I saw the difference. Modifications take alot of time in California since diesel is not a common thing to modify here in California.
