Finally got some seat time in my truck, and just want to send a big big thanks out to Ashley Black & the guys at Blacks Diesel!! I couldn't be happier in what they put together for me. Ashley knew I was wanting to get back into diesel motorsports and that I wanted to do this build once and do it right. He helped me plan this build through countless emails, conversations, and stupid questions (on my part) while I was deployed, went out of his way to find parts when I was down to the wire, and still got it built in time for me to enjoy it over leave. The quality & workmanship are second to none, and I wouldn't hesitate recommending Ashley to anyone. Can't say it enough buddy! :thankyou2:

P.S- Timeslips coming ASAP!

Ashley is top notch even on just phone conversations.

Seriously thinking about just sending the truck to him for everything.

That's ultimately what I did. As much as I love to work on my trucks myself, I wanted to spend time with my friends/family over leave instead of being under the hood for the better part of it. It amazed me how quickly he got this thing together. He had the tranny knocked out in a day! I think the poor guy had more time waiting on the parts I ordered at the last second to get delivered then he did working on it? haha he's got a sign hanging on his wall that reads something like this:

"We do 3 types of jobs here good, fast, & cheap. You can pick 2."
-If it's good and fast, it won't be cheap.
-If it's fast and cheap, it won't be good.
-If it's good and cheap, it won't be fast.

Ashley may not be the cheapest you could find, but you absolutely get every penny's worth out of his work. I'll let the ricers find out about the "good & fast" part on Friday LOL

Good looking truck! What all you get done to it?

Thanks buddy! She's still a work in progress but I'm really happy so far. So far the list is as follows:

110# Hamilton Valvesrpings
Extreme Duty Hamilton Pushrods
ARP 625 Head Studs
100% Exergy's
Dual Stock CP3's
FASS Titanium 200
Stainless T4 Manifold
S475/83/1.0
Smarty TNT-R
Caltrac's
QA1s in the rear
Front/Rear Driveshaft Loops
Goerend Tranny built by Ashley Black

It may take me awhile to save the $$ but I'm going to have Ashley swap a 6.7 in for me next year. I'll either go with a bigger single or do an S400/500 setup. Also will probably have Exergy enlarge the nozzles a little more :evil

You seem to be building a beast! 6.7 with 5.9 electronics seems to be the thing to do in order to spool these big turbos better. Hope to see more on your build in the future.

Haha I'm trying to. My goal for this truck in the current setup is low 11s. I'll be looking for low 10s with the 6.7. The 6.7s are unreal in how they can spool big chargers, plus you have the EFI Live option. Keep in touch man, I'd be glad to keep you updated!

Just wanted to update some more progress on my build, and thank Ashley and the guys of Black's Diesel Performance for more outstanding work and customer service that's second to none. I was able to hit an 11.54 pass back in November with the mods listed above, but Ashley and I knew she had more in her since I was still smoking pretty decently down the track. He recommended a B&B side mount intake, external gate, and a small shot of nitrous. Being that Christmas leave was from December 17th-Jan 2nd I decided I'd drive back and have the work done for the upcoming race season.

Unfortunately I'm stationed in El Paso and couldn't get the truck or an extra head to Ashley in time before I had to leave for special forces selection at the end of November. Ashley volunteered one of his spare heads for his race truck and had it machined for the intake. Not only did that save our timeline for install since the machine shop was backed up til the end of the year but it also saved me $400-600 in an extra head. (Thanks #1)

Once I got back from selection I made the drive from El Paso to Georgia, Ashley had all hands on deck and got the heads swapped and nitrous installed in a day and half, which allowed me the use of my truck the weekend before Christmas to cruise a particular lady friend around town. (Thanks #2)

Knowing my time was running short Ashley invited me up the day after Christmas to install the Turbosmart wastegate. While we were tuning the wastegate I was met with a random injector failure. Ashley pulled the injectors the next day and overnighted them to Exergy. We got them back on Saturday the 29th and he reinstalled them that afternoon in an effort to save my weekend plans. Unfortunately, as luck would have it, one was still misfiring. Out of time with New Years approaching and a mandatory Jan 2nd return to El Paso, Ashley lent me a spare set of injectors and came in on Sunday for the install to get me back on the road and back in time to stay out of trouble with the Army. (Thanks #3)

I may come off as a "cheerleader" but truth be told I don't really give a damn. Ashley deserves all the credit possible for my success and the success of all the other trucks that have come through his shop. I can't stress enough if you're looking for quality, reliability, and top notch customer service Ashley's your guy. Hats off to you sir, and thanks again for everything :Cheer:

Forgot to mention Ashley also hooked me up with this hood. Half price and painted it for free! Pictures from the latest install!

I absolutely agree, Ashley and his crew are as good as they come. He's left home and met me up at his shop to wrench on my truck more than once. He's also very fast. Most of the time my truck is sitting up there, it's waiting on parts I've ordered.

I've seen your truck up there, BTW. Sharp rig.

Fast is right, I returned 2 text messages and took a sip of sweet tea and he already had the wastegate installed and plumbed? LOL I'm right there with you on any down time, except instead of parts, I get smitted by the diesel gods and break something stupid? haha I appreciate the nod on the truck, I think we did a good job transforming my Dad's old work truck into an 11 second sleeper. Can't wait to see if 10s are in the future with a little bit of spray? What truck do you drive, its quite possible I've seen yours up there as well.
