Steiner 425 owners?

AsTroSS

problems start @80 psi
Do we have somebody who owns Steiner 425 4x4 or similar articulated compact tractor/ mower with front end loader?

I brought Steiner 425 mower and I want to build front end loader, but I can't figure out how the factory loader LD300 is attatched to frame.

Any advice?

I got a few. The 425 they don't make a loader for it due to the larger tractor. I have had a green 425, a few 420s, a s18, and currently I have a 430 Max with the d600 kubota diesel.

The loaders attach to a bar that runs through the forward section of the tractor. They are below the steering wheel. Let me get a pic for ya.

Also, did you get the cam yet?

Adding- on your first photo do you see the hole in the frame where the pivot is? That's where a solid round bar goes through and bolts to that frame on one side to keep it from moving. The current tractor I have doesn't have one but I will find some pics.

Yes, the cam is here just waiting the engine build start.

My 425 is also green and labeled as Ransomes.

Currently I have 2 John Deere mowers : 318 and 332 (diesel)

and also 2 Steiner /Ransomes mowers : 220 (2wd diesel) and 425 4wd diesel (still in UK)

How do you like the 425?

Mine is with hydraulic defect, moves only to forward direction

That's exactly like the one I had. Great units but just way to big for the woods we have. Currently we have a 420 with the diesel. Same as a newer 430 max. Have you looked into the slip scoop buckets or are you needing the height for the lift?

The slipo scoop is easy to fabricate, but in long run I need the loadder to lift dirt/sand to my dump truck bed

Dustin, do you knew how much weight is the rear 3pt cat1 hitch rated?

This info is not available even for new Steiner 440 tractor.

I have never had a 3 point on any of my tractors so I'm not positive. I will look into it though.

I will say that with the weight kit ours picks up a full load of sand/gravel in the slip scoop. It's a powerful little tractor. Probably picks up around 1000-1500lbs.

Neighbor has a ventrac diesel with a 72" mower and duals all the way around. It's impressive. LOL

Ok thanks

Mine is with rear 3pt hitch and it should arrive in Friday, I am excited ..:pop:

This how the Steiner 425/ Ransomes 21 look when I got it.

I brought this tractor from UK and like allways when you buy items from internet you can win or loose, this time I was not so lucky.

The tractor had problems to move forward , the engine stalled but move reverse without problems. I dissasembled the hydraulic system and found the front hydraulic motor was damaged, rear hydraulic motor and pump was OK.
Like allways its very hard to find parts (reasonably priced) for old machines. But after many hours of Internet investigation I bought JohnDeere 400 mower hydraulic pump/motor assmbly and I hope the pump/motor internal components are identical with Steiner unit.

And they were :lolly:,

Now the hydraulic pump and hydraulic motors are overhauled, new hydraulic lines are also arrived.
The center joint and steering cylinder joints were also damaged and now I have to wait when they come back from machining shop, then the fun part starts- the final assembly.
I will post pictures at the beginning of next week.

There are all new joints, from cylinder ends to centre joint, now it should be tight.

Also new spindles and bearings for mower

The assembly process can start :rockwoot:
