Cummins in a 1100 series

Anything can be done, but this would be tough because the 354 is part of the frame. Thus they have very heavy cast oil pans. If a cummins was put in one it would need to be adapted to the trans, front end,and the balancer driven hydraulic pump. Not to mention braces to help with rigidity
Yea i know it would be a lot of custom parts that would have to be made! But i grow up on one of these old tractors and really like the way they handle. And they have good power to weight (with a 5.9) would be even better.
I have a friend that has a machine shop that said he would build a plate for 2 grand, but the oil pan would be hard to build looks like to me, but like u said anything is possible.
Also i thought if u would make the front end about 2-3 inchs longer for more coolent capacitey and air filter placement. The hydro pump wouldnt be easy to get back coupled either.
The down side of the tractor is it still has slow hydro's but i was going to see what a guy could do 2 one for more flow if possible.
Wanted to do this after i got hooked on 12v power years ago!
I think the Ferguson would hold the power better than say a Oliver (with hydro power) if they was weighted 16k+.
Goal would be a strong 200hp that would stay cool (ppump ofcoarse)!

I would just put a turbo'd 354 in it. They are capable of a cool 200hp, in Marine apps the engines are rated at 240hp stock. But then again, they always have cool water running through them.
We have 4 1130's around the farm, and I love them all. We just turn the pumps up on them and they make a very reliable 150hp. Thats not even putting a bigger turbo on, adding more coolant capacity, etc.. All we do is turn them up a little.
As for the hydraulics, I know of people that do away with the radial pumps and use a small electric motor hooked to a little hydraulic pump to run their brakes and steering. But they only do that to pullers.
$2k for an adapter plate?? That seems a bit wild, all that really needs done is trace out the two bellhousings, and transfer punch the holes then cut them out.
