I think I would take my chances with a new factory one. Either there is a defect in the one with a twist or it has had some power put to it.

Remember the folks that say their input shaft broke while they were just driving down the road? Someone then asks, "what were you doing yesterday in it?" "Oh beating the tar out of the truck drag racing!"
