A newly introduced special series of pulls in eastern Ohio will greet the many pullers in the Open 2.6 Diesel 4x4 Truck division in 2012. This series of pulls will feature a point race for specially designated pulls held within the state of Ohio and promoted by Full Pull Productions, Inc. Modeled after the very popular Global Truck Outfitters Series that has been held in Maryland and Pennsylvania for the past three years - this new series will afford another opportunity for the Open 2.6 Diesel 4x4 Trucks to ‘run for the points’. NADM has chosen not to renew their regional series for the 2.6 trucks in Ohio for 2012, so this afforded an opportunity for Full Pull to fill that void.
Enterprise Engine Performance of Thornville, Ohio will be the series sponsor for the “Buckeye Blackout” which will pay out special end-of-season cash money to the trucks that finish in the top three places in the point race. Awards for the series will be presented at the USA-EAST Awards Banquet in October of 2012. Enterprise Engine Performance has been the contingency sponsor for the Pro Stock Diesel 4x4 class with USA-EAST for a number of years and will become involved in this series for the Open 2.6 Diesel 4x4 division in 2012.
As of this time a total of nine pulls have been designated as a part of the Enterprise Engine Performance “Buckeye Blackout”. It is possible that other events may be added to the list in the coming weeks. The famous Bunker Hill ‘Shoot-Out’ in Beloit, Ohio will conduct three of the point pulls in the series while the Alliance, Ohio area Mile Grange Fair will join with USA-EAST for the first time in 2012 and will host to the opening leg of the series. Another new venue with USA-EAST, the Wayne County Fair in Wooster, Ohio, will play host to the last pull of the series in mid-September.
Some of the pulls in this series will be run for dual points. This means that trucks will be able to collect BOTH USA-EAST 2.6 series points and also collect points in the “Buckeye Blackout” Series. The normal and standard USA-EAST purse for the Open 2.6 Diesel 4x4 Class will be paid to the first nine trucks at each of the stops in the Enterprise Engine Buckeye Blackout Series.
All Open 2.6 trucks will be welcome to pull/participate in the series without becoming a member of USA-EAST. However, only USA-EAST members can actually collect points in the series and all USA-EAST members are automatically entered into this series. A special reduced fee series membership at a cost of $60.00 will be made available to owners of trucks who wish to run the “Buckeye Blackout Series” without joining USA-EAST with a regular membership for the entire season. These limited members may collect points in the Buckeye Blackout Series only but will NOT collect points at other regular USA-EAST Series pulls.
An “invitation only” pull will be held at the Great Geauga County Fair in Burton, Ohio on September 2nd. The top ten trucks from the Enterprise Engine “Buckeye Blackout” Series will be invited to participate at this prestigious pull where they will be joined by the top ten from the USA-EAST Series. This may prove to be one of the most competitive pulls of the 2012 season.
For pullers who cannot take the time to travel the entire USA-EAST schedule this summer the new Enterprise Engine Performance Buckeye Blackout Series will produce a point champion with only nine hooks in the point series.
See the updated 2012 USA-EAST schedule for a complete listing of dates and venues for this series.
