24" hitch seems like such a no-brainer, can't believe it would be kept in the rules for one guy. Maybe he owns a ring & pinion company?
It should have gone to a vote

I'm sorry but that is completely retarded to me! You could have bought and paid for open drive line stuff for what you spent in repairs this yearDose it really matter Mat? the current champ said to be changing ring and pinions every few hooks now, other top truck are doing the same, we are approaching 10k in drive line parts for 2013. not sure how keeping the current rules or adopting otherrules is gonna change the problem.....prob for the guys who havet pulled in 6~7 years it might I guess! BTW I am not *****in about the breakin, I accept the risk because we like pulling and hope to win someday!

we run a competitive 2.6 duramax and took 5th in PPL points and in last 2 years haven not had a broken ring or pinon.. still the same gear.. its about making it all work together
BTW Sorry for the Hi Jack, 95% of the current FPP pullers (including myself) are pushin to adopt ppl rules the other 5% along with some old time pullers are trying to stop it!

which is why adopting PPL rules for this next of the woods gives me heartburn. No representation, no participation, no nothing, just get a rule book whenever someone feels like publishing it.
Caleb, I understand your reasons for change, but how many pullers do you think this class (in our area) will have after a couple seasons of $8000 to $10000 per year of driveline maintenance?
Sorry we are on opposite sides of this one, that may be a first.
My thoughts would be if you want a Big-Boy truck, enter a Big-Boy class.
2.6 has escalated far beyond most budgets.
Dale, you spent 11k on a rear end last year. I think thats the same as doing 10 r&p changes. Your kinda contradicting your self...
DISTURBED;2196934 Tractors do it to stop this stuff but the trucks don't![/QUOTE said:We truck pullers are not all that bright! :bang
