well i figured id get on here and show you guys me and my dads conversion truck was originally bought by my dads uncle in 66 and became his in the 80's and was used as a work truck. in 1990 he sent it off to competition paint and body in Tallahassee FL. for paint to be turned into a show truck. in in the late 90's it kinda morphed into a 600hp BBC street truck, did a pretty good bit of racing also. best it ran was low 7's in the 1/8th although the motor had 6's all over it. in the last two or three years the motor has been out for refreshing but was put on the back burner, so in july of this year i talked my dad into diesel power and so the fun begins. the goal is to have a low 7's street truck with a twin turbo 12v.

Fitment was surprisingly well only problem is going to be the inner cooler, but i have found out if i can find a first gen cooler it will fit with little trimming or buy one to size. after decided on how i was going to build them i built my motor mounts. in the pic they are solid but will have a 1/2' piece of conveyor belt in between. once the truck is running ill pull the motor for paint and seals.

also for the driveshaft to be properly lined up with the rear i have to cut the trans hoop in the cab to raise the trans height.

Take my word for it you really want motor mounts Idid it your way could stand the noise driving on the street.I use 93 dodge mounts look same as Chevy.same goes for trans mount.

the truck will only be drove on the weekends or on the track so noise and vibration doesn't bother me.the big block was mounted straight to the frame also, a little different design. i know it will be more than that motor but for now i expect it

dont remember i picked it up from Darren Morrison he told me it was the correct size ill need. it was that or a big single like a s467, s472, but because of the firewall the down pipe would be very difficult. so if i run twins i can run my exhaust right down the side of the frame to the bed with zero fitment issues.

The vibration and noise multiply it alot over the bigblock .I had solid mounts in the 72 first to had small block turboed and Holley projection.gasser I could handle not the diesel.
Your going to driver it more than you think we do
..it just more fun wait till you feel the TQ take over make the truck twist.Smiling from ear to ear.

yea i am very excited the main problem with the truck though is there is no weight in the rear so it just blows the tires out.this is the main reason we never reached the max potential of the big block. so soon as its running and all the bugs are worked out im going to throw a ford 9" and do some coil overs and lower the rear a little more. then add some weight back there to help weigh transfer

I have the exhaust going out my frame on my 75 ford with the twins much easier after I took out the stock ac and heater box.

My c10 is a long bed I put a Suburban fuel tank and mounted the 2 batteries behind the rear fender wells.30gal.fuel and batts it launches hard but it had 3:08 gears now instead of 4:11 good mpg 28mpg with NV4500 400rear wheel hp.on dyno.have alot of fun with mustangs and Camaro's

Dale

this one has 3:73's and the battery is mounted in a box behind the passenger rear tire, and also has a 20 gal aluminum fuel cell in the rear of the bed. ill have to get a picture of the box its well hid

I couldn't get mine to crank good enough with one Bart.using 00 welding cable.same batts on a class 8 truck I think group 72 top studs.
I took my stock fan off last winter didn't have no issues running hot sitting at stop lights.my motor is 93
