Just picked my new one up Monday. Have 75 miles on it so far. Crew Cab short box, 370/800 motor in it. Nice truck so far.

When should the first oil change on the motor and trans be done? I want this thing to last for a while and willing to take the time to take care of it.

And does anyone know of a gooseneck that can be installed without cutting the side of the bed like the B&W? I like the B&W a lot but I really don't like having to cut a piece out of the side of the bed to get the cross member in.

Still waiting on the full owner's manual. They give you a short abbreviated one with the truck and you have to call and order the full one. I was just wondering if anyone was doing anything besides what the manual said that seemed to be best. Thanks

If you want it to last for a while (assuming 200k plus) delete every piece of emissions equipment you can. (if you live in a county that doesn't do emissions testing)

IMO work the engine pretty good for the first 2000 miles. It needs some break in time.

you can't delete emissions on a 2013

Eh give it time, someone will figure it out eventually.

OP let this image burn in your mind, these engines have a death wish on them from the factory.

130k mile truck, intake horn is full of soot and carbon build up. Yuck

Is this from a 2012 or older? The new ones don't use the EGR system as much with the implementation of the SCR system. But it's still there so I'm sure it will look like that some day. Cross my fingers I guess.

Averaging about 19mpg right now through the first 75 miles, ha.

He might be able to do a stealth block off on the egr. Not sure if the computer would notice that or not.

Just a quick update. Truck has 6K miles on it now. Was averaging around 18-19 mpg with the wife driving it around town. On the highway would do 22-23mpg with me behind the wheel.

Last weekend with the gooseneck on for a 300 mile round trip it got 13mpg. That was with empty GN one way and total of about 10K on the trip home.

I'm pretty happy with it so far.

I don't know what I am doing wrong, but the best I have seen with my 12 deleted is around 12 empty, I know it has 35's on it but jebus less MPG than a factory full emission truck?

The 13's and up get pretty much as good mileage stock as 07.5's-12's do deleted. Fwiw, my 12 deleted gets 13-17 mpg depending on different driving factors. That's hand calculated with box tunes from an H&S XRT PRO.

Waiting for a response from some saying they get 326 mpg, stock, towing a 82' travel trailer with the cruise on 90 and a 68 mph head wind in. 3..... 2....... 1.....

It's a little hard to judge just how bad the soot build up is in that pic, but just going on how that pic appears my 12 looked exactly like that when I deleted it with less than 1000 miles on it.

I saw a dmax once that had 250k on the clock and was bone stock. The intake ports in the heads were clogged about 50% shut.

I drive like an old man too, that probably helps a lot. With the trailer I set the cruise at 70-72 mph. Empty I set it at the same speed.

With using the remote start during the winter it is down to around 14-16 mpg range. That damn app for my phone makes it too easy to start. I don't even have to leave my desk to get it going.

My '11 3500 SRW G56 with a standard H&S Mini Maxx gets (summer blend) 14-16 around town and 18-almost 20 interstate with a 3" leveling kit, 35x12.5x17 toyo M/T and a south bend dual disk. What tire pressure do you guys run?

This time of year I air down a bit so I am around 55-60#.

I have 45 in the rear and 65 in the front with out the trailer, the wife likes a nice ride.

With trailer the rears go up to 70. Those are also stock tires so take it for what it's worth.
