2003 Build

I got all the wiring on the engine. Then back in the truck it goes. My plan is to run a ford 6.0 trans cooler.

That's how I should have attached to my 6.0 trans cooler. Will you just leave the front cross member out now?

What's the turbo combination?

If it doesn't interfere, I think I would add sheet metal tabs/straps to hit those upper locating bolts and drop down over the outside of those plastic tabs to fix the cooler on all axis.

This was my mounting approach. Some .090 aluminum formed up, had to make some spacers to take up the gap between the aluminum brackets and radiator. Also couldn’t bring myself to not having a cross member. Fabricated one that bolts in. Everything is tight but it fits.

Also, don’t use push lock fitting at the trans for cooling connections.

No issue once I used a clamp and didn't rely on push lock only for sealing purposes. The discharge side at the trans blew off and coated the underside of the truck with ATF. I probably should have known better.

And at that time I noticed the hose (less than a year old) was starting to crack. Bought some GoodYear hose and replaced both supply and return. Have 12' of extra hose in the tool box. Next time I'll just do low pressure hydraulic lines and weld fittings on the cooler. My current lines are 1/2" ID.

I have modified it for the clearance. Turbos are 63/65 over 75/96/1.32

I like your.turbo choices, small secondary turbine works good on compounds that I've been around.

As it should :thankyou2:

it wasn't so much my choice as its what I had laying around :rockwoot:

I was going to use the 1st gen turbo outlet however it was going to take the scenic route. I didn't like how it looked. Also I didn't want a different charge air boot so a modified HX35 was constructed. And a 4inch primary inlet was plenty of air with a AFE filter.

Did you use the 23 row or 31 row mine is the 23row and i agree with you on the crossmember i also used AN Fitting as mine had AN fitting welded on my cooler

I used the larger 31 row cooler. I figured go big or go home.
AN fittings are the way to go. Wish I had thought about it at the time of install.

I agree I already had this one from my 95 Fummins Project so I will be doing a bigger one on it for sure

It finally moves under its own power. So it was time to put the front bumper on and put it on the lift to do the downpipe. I am still waiting on the Tailpipe section for completing but at least I can drive it now.
On a side note love the Lokar locking dipstick for sure a game changer

Is the handle removable or is it crimped on?

so after some driving around I found the driver side knuckle joint was shot and i would get a random ABS light time to time so New Spicers joints. and Yukon free spin kit then finished it off with a set of Centerline wheels with some Mickey Thompsons ATZ 35x12.50x20

Very nice! I don't even treat my own daily driven truck that well.

Ford definitely has the front axle hub situation figured out, or spicer does. While I'm a fan of free spin hubs, they look like Pinocchio's nose sticking out of the wheel on dodge axles.
