Cummins whoas

Ok my 05 has been nothing but trouble since I bought it but it’s been worth the headache. I had a wire shorting out in the 5v system before hand and it was causing about 11 codes to be thrown well I got that all sorted about and haven’t had a problem for about 4-5 months this morning I fire it back up and it’s throwing a bank 1-3 injector fault code high low resistance. It threw this code before so we changed the injector wires that run through the valve cover and it seemed to fix the problem even though those all ohmed out good. It has also had the wait to start light come on when going at freeway speeds. And my miss fire perimeter won’t reset. There is a service bulletin out for that saying reflash ecm and if that doesn’t fix the problem to replace it with one that doesn’t have that perimeter. I bought a brand of injectors to give them a shot and I think that my be nightingale me in the ass or my ecm is toasted been through all the wireing also has dealership do the same. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure all your grounds are good any that you don’t have any oil in your injector harness plugs. Ecm is possible but rare.

Loaded voltage drop on the circuits involved with the codes. 5 amps should do.

Of all the CR 5.9 ECMs I get requests for, due to outright failures, 2005 is at the top of the list.
Beating that one for failures, is the 2007.5-2009 6.7 ECM, which is total garbage in it's own right.

Don't even get me started on the 24 valve ones.

Mark.

Well it’s got a fault for injector high low resistance on bank one P2146 I got rid of the other ten this one seems to keep coming back new injectors but not a really well known brand. Diesel logic? Shop out of Florida. I also have misfire perameter that won’t set guy I bought truck from had to have it released 3 times to pass smog.

More often than not those bank codes are set by injector solenoids. Pull the valve cover with the engine hot, remove the wire harnesses from the studs on the injectors, and check resistance between the two posts. Use a good meter. Spec is less than 1 ohm, but I've found that they are usually around .6 ohms, give or take a few tenths. If you have 5 that are .6 and one that is .9 or higher, that is very likely your problem injector. Some of those off brand rebuilders use aftermarket (not Bosch) solenoids, which are hit and miss.

As many have said here in the past, swap injectors around to see if the problem follows it. If it doesn't, then the ECM is likely the culprit, but if it does, then a solenoid is causing the issue.
Personally, I wouldn't even consider a bargain basement injector seller.
I'd go to a reputable Bosch shop, such as South Central Diesel in Holdrege, Nebraska, or Diesel Specialties in Omaha, Nebraska.

Good to know I plan on putting ecm in it because we have been fighting that problem since I bought the truck I have a feeling he welded on it and fried it. But yes I will check injectors I already changed the plugs through valve cover

Ya I knew that for the injectors going Into it and I think it wound up biting me in the ass live and learn some times there’s quite a price involved with it. I’m having ecm reflashed next week and if not they get rid of that perimeter all together so it will pass smog. The code also clears once it’s running/warm and cycles a few times

While reinventing the wheel is a nice idea, you never cure a problem by pushing it aside.
Learn how to fix what's wrong, instead of running the other way.

Got it into the dealer it’s narrowed down to now to injectors wiring to injectors or ecm gonna swap injectors and if codes move we found it. Also a really low cranking voltage on start up my have bad battery cable
