6.7 questions

Three months ago I bought a 2008 dodge 2500 mega cab 4x4 6.7 with the 6 speed manual. Truck had 123,000 miles on it when I bought it. About a month ago I ordered a 5" exhaust, efi live and egr and intake valve delete kits. I have everything put on but the egr delete kit, but I unplugged a the stuff for it. Truck runs good, gets 17 - 19 mpg now. The other day I pulled a 25' gooseneck unloaded for about an hour and the overhead unit started saying "Needs service, See dealer NOW!" We then loaded a 12'x24' shed on the trailer and about every 20 mins driving home the truck kept "binging" and the over head unit would say the same thing. Check engine light never came on, and all the gauges seemed fine. But I have noticed my over head unit saying anywhere from 12 - 16 mpg and that's unloaded with the milage tune on the truck. I know the overhead units are not that accurate but before I pulled the trailer it was saying 17-19mpg. So what does this "Needs service, See dealer NOW!" Mean? It had not came back on sense I pulled the trailer. Does this have something to do with the egr still being on the truck?

Thanks, Matt

Does it ever say "diesel catalyst full"? Mine was doing that. It thinks the dpf is full and sets the alarm. Efi can stop this, but may need to ask someone that's figured out what exactly to turn off in the tune.

I didn't notice any issues like power reduction. Just got the annoying singing every ten minutes or so.

Some trucks will display that and not go away, EFI was supposed to have a fix coming out for this or maybe did on the last update, I haven't looked through the new update much

Before I deleted my truck I had "Exhaust Filter Full, Reduced Power see Dealer" but once I deleted it it was fine. But that popped up after 3k miles on a brand new dpf (place I bought the truck from replaced the dpf) I guess I'll get with who I got the tunes from and see what they can do about this stuff poping up.

You did actually remove the DPF correct? Iam reading that you had it replaced by dealer. If you deleted it with the tune you also have to remove the filter.

It could also be your crank case filter being full that is causing the see dealer warning or alert. It is suppose to be replaced at 67000 miles IIRC. It will cause that warning also.

Yes I put a turbo back 5" exhaust on the truck. And where is this filter at? I'm wanting to get rid of the crank case vent going into the intake. I just have not had a lot of time to mess with the truck.

The small cover that bolts to the top of the valve cover. Remove the oil fill cap and the 8 or 10 8mm bolts that hold the small cover. The filters is under that cover. Also be careful when tightening up the bolts when putting back together as the nuts are set in plastic ( its easy to strip them out).
