So this is just a bracket the heater mounds to? And the bracket bolts between the lift pump and block.
Couldn’t one just run without that spacer? Or does this cause clearance issues?

Yep. Without the bracket/spacer the piston travel will max out. That's why the lift pump i installed first cracked.

Caltrans work way better on nose heavy trucks, they push the tire into the pavement.

Go to their website and they have a measurement form you can fill out, they'll make you a set. Or just call, I bet they have 1st gen measurements already.
