That illusive #14 bolt....

Oil cooler on. Carter pump cover sandblasted and blacked out. Pretty ECM mount, not so pretty ECM.... And with another man's name on her no less. Knocked in the last 7 freeze plugs. Injectors cleaned and ready to install.

It may or may not help anyone, but the CAT exhaust studs I'm using are 10903001 @~$4 each. I will get the spacer number when I figure out what engine they are from 😁

OH yeah, mods can move this to the conversion forum. I guess I will use it as a build thread.

Wrong # on the studs. 224-5445

Trimmed to up-tube on the coolant bypass to make it fit more accurately. Mounted the water inlet. Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.

What kind of setup are you going with? Mild towing type build or looking to make big Power?

600hp DD and maybe push it higher.

Short rod 6.4
Stock fly cut pistons
D&J valve springs
New valve seats
ARP head and main studs, flexplate and dampened bolts
Sleeved front seal
Carillo rods
188/200 hamilton
CM849
Reworked 6.7 harness
Fleece coolant bypass
Fleece 750 IP
Used 90hp injectors
SFI flex plate.
BD triple disc
DTT 47RE
Modified stock valve cover
Stock intercooler
Mishimoto rad.
Billet 63X68 from Zachezious Faylor
Stock 24V manifold with Cera cote, and the ports on the head are ceracoted
Manton pushrods

Bunch of hard parts from Mumau

Twins and injectors after I figure out where I want the power to be. Probably hang a 480 under the 63 with lots of gating.

Yeah, for the Ford (Trashpanda) Mitch.

Long to do list...

I still want to build a speed signal buffer for engine speed. I know guys are selling them, but I can't bring myself to pay them.

That's more serious than I thought, Awesome! Being stock rod and piston is the block decked? I've only played with 5.9 and haven't kept up with how it's done.

Rod length, not stock rods, is it 6.7 bore destroyed?

So, I got ahead of myself. Installed the overhead without injectors. I stopped myself before I torqued and adjusted everything. #CATtechnicianproblemsClick the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.

OK. So question of the day, and it's going to highlight the obvious.

I haven't degreed my cam. I'm going to have to.

Anyway, I'm checking piston to valve clearance with a dial indicator. (head is already installed)
I set TDC with a dial indicator through the injector bore.

Checking PTV with the dial indicator on intake #1, I have 0.115". 0.100" valve reliefs.

My question is, there is 0.015" piston to head clearance?

I know I should have checked all this before hand, but I was being a dick.

Inching along.

Degreed cam, installed injectors, adjusted valves, cleaned plugs and installed, swapped fan bearing (no bolts to install on engine), installed oil pan (finally). Installed high pressure fuel system. Realized that there is no place on the 6.7 manifold plate for an intake manifold pressure sensor.
