Wood grain dash
Thinking about installing a 98-02 dash in my 97. I worked on a 99 the other day and the wood grain dash caught my eye. Did those only come in the Sport trucks?

No. It came with interior upgrade package. And you are stepping into a pile of......to try and get a newer dash in your 97. Especially if you want the newer cluster to work.

Years ago there was a shop where I live that did the high dollar, antique car, frame off restorations. I'm talking $20K-$30K in the early '90's. A friend of mine worked there doing paint and body and I happened to be there one day when he was wood-graining an old dash. I may be wrong but I think he was using wood stain or maybe shoe polish. I'll see if I can get hold of him and get the technique.
I did a search to see if I could find it online and found this. Looks simple enough and I don't see why it wouldn't work on a dash:
