56 chevy 3100 build thread

Opening back up

I hope this means we're about to get an update. I just read the whole thread and am excited for more progress!

To the op: the bed that you built looks awesome! I'm getting ready to start on a 53 Ford F100 and your truck is great inspiration for me. Thanks!

Back on track. Took a break while i was going through a divorce. Starting the wiring, got the drivers side door converted to single glass and ready for body filler, did final fitment of the drivers door, painted the interior and started installing switches, glove box is done, work on mounting the battery and building the intercooler piping tonight. FUll steam ahead. WIll post a few pics when i get to my work computer on mon. Getting close to first start

Full 9+3 harness from rebel wireing is awesome, very easy and well built.

divorce was for the better for both of us, we are both happier now.

I would say I'm sorry about the breakup, but if you're happy, I'm happy.
Truck is looking good buddy.

I am very happy and so is she, so all is good. haven't worked too much on the truck, I have been hunting as much as possible trying to bag a deer or 2. did get a few thing sdone. ash tray and other dash block off plate were mangled so I spent some time straightening them and they are now ready for paint. I wasn't thrilled with the light gray paint on the dash so I over layed a darker gray on top, as well as the cluster bezel, steering column, and I think I am going to do the ash tray and block off plate the same darker color. drop down battery box is mounted on the frame below the drivers seat. ordered cable yesterday so I can start wiring.

Looking good buddy, glad your putting that 4bt to use.
Keep up the hard work.

Wiring is done from the firewall back to the trailer hitch. Put some fuel in it to calibrate the sender. Getting closer

Big thanks to Jeff Mumau and Seth Farrell for all their help and patience, they are top knotch. Finally got the time work, side work and my honey bees to get the pump and injectors installed. Motor started right up and sounds great. Time to pull some late nights and get this thing done.

Vid to come. Couldnt get it to load. Few tiny leaks around injector nuts, going to replace the copper washers later this evening

few small updates-working on body work which I am not overly great or fast at, bed is completely bolted on, wiring is done except for the tach and fan.
-the link below is the first time the truck has moved under its own power since 1985. it was a great feeling to finally get it moving. only leak was a drip out of left rear wheel cylinder.
