Wouldn't it have been a better plan to do this closer to were there are actually true 3.0 trucks, say in Pa. In stead of an off the wall place that has no trucks. Doesnt seem like a good plan if your trying to compare these two classes if no true 3.0 trucks show. Its a 7 hour ride for me.

Rick...
Can you tell me what those of us who want to drag race need to use for rules so we can have the needed proper equipment. The idea of dirt drags has me very interested and I may make the trip for this one...........Andy
Also...
Are the Street Licensed DIESEL trucks going to be limited to 1 charger or can twins equipped trucks be raced?.Need to know that to figure which of our trucks we can bring up.

Drag rules
the drag race rules are posted on the KOT web site, but they are really quite simple - STREET LICENSED TRUCKS. this is NOT supposed to be for serious drag racers - it is designed as a 'fun type' event at the KOT event. here are the rules:
DRAG RACING AREA
1. All DRAG RACING will be conducted on a dirt surface. A racetrack used for harness racing and/or stock car racing is acceptable.
2. Two side-by-side lanes will be marked by a white chalk line.
3. The track must be “worked” to ensure a safe and fair drag race. This may include digging the track, watering and packing the track.
4. The DRAG RACING track shall be no more than 250 feet in length. The ‘normal’ DRAG RACE track will be set at two hundred feet (200’).
5. The ‘run off area’ at the end of the DRAG RACING track must be equal to twice the actual length of the DRAG RACING area. Example: A 200’ DRAG RACE area would require a total length of 400 feet.
DRAG RACING REGISTRATION RULES
1. DRAG RACING is available ONLY to street licensed trucks.
2. Current vehicle registration papers are required for all trucks participating in the DRAG RACING event.
3. Current and valid photo driver’s license is required for the driver. Any driver who is 16 or 17 years of age must have a signed parental consent waiver form.
4. All vehicles participating in DRAG RACING must show proof of liability insurance.
5. The use of any form of alcohol is prohibited while engaged in DRAG RACING.
CONDUCT OF DRAG RACING EVENT
1. All trucks planning to DRAG RACE must register and pay the entry fees.
2. The order and bracket set-up will be made available prior to the start of the DRAG RACING program. This is generated strictly by the ‘luck of the draw’ method.
3. A “Pro Style” starting light system will be used.
4. Owners must display an official DRAG RACE number on the front of the truck at all times.
5. Drivers must stay with their vehicle while their class is participating. Failure to stay with your vehicle can result in a DQ.
6. Any truck that touches the white line on the side of that truck’s lane will be disqualified.
7. Winners will return to the staging area immediately in order to receive staging instructions for their next race.
8. No speeding or ‘hot rodding’ in the pit area. Vehicles operating in an unsafe safe manner can result in a DQ/ejection from the event and/or the grounds.
9. A single elimination format will be used except when the total number of class entries is less than eight or at the discretion of the head official.
10. All drag racing decisions such as winners and possible DQ’s are FINAL. No appeal process is available.
CLASSES FOR DRAG RACING
1. Street Licensed DIESEL trucks. Two and Four Wheel Drive Permitted and will participate in a single class. Automatic and Standard Transmissions are permitted and will compete in a single class.
2. Street Licensed GASOLINE trucks. Two and Four Wheel Drive Permitted and will participate in a single class. Automatic and Standard Transmissions are permitted and will compete in a single class.
3. Street Licensed SEMI trucks (Bob Tails). Automatic and Standard Transmissions are permitted and will compete in a single class.

I'm going to try to make it, Maybe pull if I have the 95 rigged up enough to run in time. Sounds like a good event. Thanks for doing something like this in the northeast. Hopefully we can draw some more events like this into our region. Sure beats a 15+ hour ride to the midwest for one of their events!
