Global Truck Outfitters Series

Promoter USA-EAST
the very popular GLOBAL TRUCK OUTFITTERS SERIES will try again to get started this Saturday night (July 14 at 6:30pm) at the Garrett County Fairgrounds in McHenry (Deep Creek), Maryland. The first leg of the five event series was 'rained out' at Dog Hollow Speedway on July 3 and thus all 37 trucks entered on that night are now TIED for the point lead in the series.:umno:

no membership is required in order to compete. USA-EAST/NADM rules for Open 2.6 Diesel trucks will be used. entry fee is $25.00 or bring your voucher from Dog Hollow. Love's 'Decision Maker' is the transfer.

and more good news ... the GTO SERIES is scheduled as the third class on the program out of five classes. so the diesels will NOT be last!!!

special thanks to Mike and all the guys at Global Truck Outfitters in Frostburg, Maryland for sponsoring this series again in 2012.

Why were the points only awarded to the people on your list above? If I'm not mistaken Corrie Baker won so why wouldn't she get 20 and so on down the list? The way I have it figured Kenny and Brandon Stern would be tied both with 52 points, Brandon Lepley would have 48, Micah Koontz would have 46, and Eric George would have 44. Not trying to argue or anything I would just like to know how you decided who to award points to and how many..
Thanks!

if you were not at both of the first two pulls - Dog Hollow and Garrett County we stopped assigning points to that truck and those trucks no longer influenced the point race.

Thanks Rick! It would be nice for there to be some "Rules" written up and posted for the Global Series next year. Just "deciding" to only assign points to the people that came to the rainout at Dog Hollow, and the near rainout at Deep Creek, isn't really fair. I know the Global Series is only a 5 pull series and all, but to a few of us it is all we can afford to do, so thus we take it pretty seriously. Again, I'm not trying to start a fuss, but your "just deciding" to only assign points to the people you did has made the difference as to whether Brandon Stern is tied with Kenny, and whether Eric is Tied with me going into the last event. I have enjoyed pulling with FPP, and am in no way trying to bash you guys in any way - I'm just telling you it would have made a difference. I look forward to seeing you all in Deep Creek!!!!

after having a chance to sit down and analyze the situation, i can see your point, Micah. our view was that IF they did not run the first two events, they had NO chance to win anything so we just dropped them so that they would not interfere with the points of the actual guys running for the series championship.

however in retrospect, that process could also punish some pullers as with your example. maybe just a fluke, but it does work mathmatically.

in the future years we will have a sign up system in place to avoid these issues.

:clap:Congrats to Kenny Zimmerman and his Dodge named "Black Betty" - the winner of the 2012 Global Truck Outfitters Series. Zimmerman from Mineral Point, Pennsylvania has owned this series and has been the champion in each of the past three years - 2010 - 2011 and now 2012. Rumor is that Zimmerman may be heading to 3.0 for next season paving the way for a possible new GTO Series champion in 2013.

Way to go Kenny.......
