You're seeing the companion slider for $500?

No. An auto slide. Demco makes one and someone else for sure. They automatically let the trailer slide back when turned sharp enough.

That's interesting. I have verbally made a deal to buy the companion that should have come with the trailer. It is a slider model, about half the cost of new, so I'll see how I like it. If for some reason I hate it, I can at least resell it and get my money back or possibly a little more. Still waiting on the check to clear before I can go get it though. Might be a minor blessing as it snowed Thursday and the roads are very salty now, but it's supposed to warm up and rain the rest of the weekend, so hopefully the roads get rinsed off!

Just cut the frame and put a long bed on it....and never worry about the shortbed/shortpenis issue again.

I'll compensate to adjust worthless truck options to functional truck options any day regardless of how long my Vienna sausage is. I've got two kids so at least it works and I didn't cut it off like some TRANNY! Suck on that, ban hammer!

Still 4 more hours before I can post on facespace since my "tranny" comment.

Jory… how do you like the fifth wheel compared to the bumper as far as the camper itself?

Just got home! Wife isn't going anywhere tomorrow so I'll just drive her car to work, and get this thing unhooked in the daylight! Seemed to pull pretty nice, think I might need to adjust the hitch though, didn't measure anything, but just seemed a little nose high.Click the image to open in full size.

That's awesome, Jake! Congrats. You think that old beater would make it to OK?

A tad nose high is fine. Remember, the more you camp, the more shit you will be packing in the truck bed and the storage in the RV which is far forward of the axles. I'd plan on having some height to compensate for that. Better to be a touch tall than a touch low.

Your fridge is the only thing in the camper really level sensitive, so if you plan on running it on propane while in transit, anything withint 3 deg of level is fine according to the reading I've done.

Sure it would, just be a little more comfortable with a 100% complete compressor wheel! About a 2hr drive home with it last night. Didn't lean on the truck much, but I will say these new injectors from Smokem are nice! They're actually bigger than what I took out, but sooooo much cleaner, and exhaust temp was never an issue, actually been about 100° less on average for my commute to work.
As for adjusting the hitch, I'd also like to add about 5 or 10 psi to my bags, see if that settled thing a little over the bumps and dips, which would probably raise the front higher. Isn't there also a preferred distance for bed clearance as well? The bed rails up to the camper I mean.
