I was running no plate and had to put it back in. My wife likes to drive the truck but doesn't know how to control the smoke. I'm hoping for 520+ just a good street truck

95 12v in a 1927 hot rod
stock bottom end
ported/polished/O-ringed head
60# valve springs
ARP studded
no fuel plate
hx-40/ht3b twins
7x.014 injectors
racked barrels
rack plug
AFC mods, but not tuned in the slightest
4k gov springs
27* timing
alcohol injected at 30psi

649hp/1079tq

it falls on its face at 3200rpm because i think the lift pump could no longer keep up.
Click the image to open in full size.

fixed the lift pump issue, double fed the pump, and just put in a set of full cut DVs. it should heavily over fuel the twins now. not sure when ill dyno it again with the upgrades but should be interesting

Just put down a lot more power than we expected with the veg oil. Did a couple pulls on #2, then a couple on 100% veg. Below is the graph, only the second #2 run is on there (the first was botched). We were quite surprised to only lose 13 horsepressures with veg. Same tune, everything. We were expecting to have to put a lot more timing in, etc.

This engine has a lot more potential as well, but due to the nature of landspeed stuff, we aren't pushing it to the max power levels (last/first time it was on the dyno, we jumped 200hp just by advancing timing 4*, but we stopped there).

Mods for this engine are as follows:

Carrillo rods
Mahle pistons
Hamilton 181/220
Hamilton springs/retainers
Harland Sharp rockers
Ferrea valves (slightly larger)
DDP 93 lpm injectors
Mastertech Diesel 13mm pump
Browns Diesel 4k gov kit
Maxspool pushrods courtesy of Pure Diesel Power
Got Soot adjustable timing gear
Garrett GTX4202R and GTX5533R
Air to water intercooler and aftercooler
FASS fed
A1 12mm head studs
A1 14mm mains
Gorilla Girdle
CNC head porting by C-TECH

Tuned by Big Twin Diesel
Machined and assembled by Northwest Motor Machine

We've got a bunch of datalogging data that we are more than happy to share as well, just let me know what you're interested in.

Just go back through the thread My 467 would have done 700 with my setup and I pulled gooseneck across the country with it. On a cr they do like 2 billion hp. Spence was DD'ing a 475 for a long time IIRC, in Utah at that.

That would be Dependent on the stall, I've daily driven my 475 quite a bit and have towed with it a decent amount as well. Daily drove it with a stock stall converter with a 1.10 housing, that wasn't bad if you weren't ever in a huge hurry. Then switched to a 3k stall (v10 stator) and a .90 housing at the same time and those changes helped a lot. Before it got parked it was pretty fun to cruise around in first gear, mat it and let the engine sing while banging through the gears..

What was your gear ratio?
