Didn't you predict an 8.30 or 8.20 pass at the TS race?

I guess it's how you look at it. Bucks truck has factory stock camshaft, cylinder heads, turbo, intake manifolds, pistons, crankshaft, exhaust manifolds and rocker arms. If I look at what everyone else is running I call his a stock motor as it has no performance increaseing parts have been added.

Comp461

I suppose this 7 sec Duramax will be a full size truck like were all talking about right?

I'm just funnin with ya Steve. I am super impressed with what Buck and Jess and NLDP have done with relatively few mods. It will be interesting to see what will happen when the aftermarket catches up with what they are doing. We will see some stupid HP for sure

NLDP just showed us how long the stock rods will last on a 10 second Duramax............. One pass!

Ah, that poor motor had a rough life....131K rounds, and the previous owner treated it like a baby treats a diaper...
We need a few more fellers to step up with a 10 second GM truck..

A fresher motor might have lasted longer, maybe all that pre timing didn't help

I wish it could make 10's a few times.. but I don't think it would EVER do it on OEM parts

While I would love for the engine to last longer at these power levels it's just not going to happen. We have found with time 500 RwHp will shorten the rods. As the power goes higher the life gets shorter and when your where were at today it's not going to live much over one pass with stock rods. So it turns into a pay me now or pay me later problem and NLDP found out the pay me later part cost a bunch more than the pay me now.

Noreaster is right on the money. Some new discoveries is about to change all this though. Breath deep (out with the bad, in with the good).

I'd think that a modded CP3 or twin CP3's with Nitrous on the NLDP truck and NO pane could net a 10 second pass....and the motor could live a little longer...on stock parts. They need more fuel!!
