Get my money back out of it..only reason I have it is because my friend stuck me with it..he asked me to find him a core motor because he blew his..so I found this one for $450..he said cheap was good they were going to be machining and cleaning..he just needed something..after he took head off he refused to pay.so me being me I gave him his money back and took it..but with a little elbow grease I think it'll be ok

That's what I thought. I was basing my statements off minimum cost/repair.

I have a hood IH block sitting on my floor so as long as internals are good and that one piston can be reused I have a good motor..I did some horse trading and swapped out the non ic head for an IH head off a 97..

this piston came out of #2 hole.. not sure what happen. there is no scaring or any damage whatsoever to the cylinder wall on #2..

other than that the crank, rods, and other 5 pistons looked good..that rust remover did some work id say

I am pretty sure the piston design didn't change between ppumped engines. Just Highway and Marine. Same spray pattern.

I could be wrong though.

I like your style on that sale.

I will say (and will be looked down on by all the A++ types) that there is more that one piston in service with dents like those.

actually 94-95 and 96-97 have different pistons, but either will work just fine. the bowl shapes are a little different. probably not good to mix them, just run all six.

That's definitely good to know. I'll have to find a print for the difference. I don't think they changes anything injector wise except hole size, so that's kind of surprising.
