99 f-550 hiccup/intermittent "sudden death"

Truck died pullin a hill on interstate, suspected CPS changed it an discovered "fuel heater" fuse was bad. Truck started but hiccups when you demand more power, as little as just shiftin up or givin some fuel for an incline. Does throw codes but I don't have a scan tool. Any ideas?

It was protecting itself from damage... wait... it's a little late for that.
