Me and you both lol. Plan is to hopefully be making some test passes by mid feb. not really a whole lot remaining. 4 link brake lines put the trans in so it shouldn’t be much longer.

Got the truck sitting where it’s going to be for now. The plan is to run it this year the with the stock frame rails. after a lot of thought I’ve decided I want to run it this year and don’t want to push having it done so therefor the backhalf will be waiting. Then this coming winter I plan to backhalf the truck and swap rears. It will still have a 4 link that I have laying around. Here it is currently sitting at ride height with slicks and all

Yea I like the way it makes it look. I probably went alittle overkill but I knew traction would be the biggest problem. They’re 33x15r15 on a 15x14. Turned out to be a pretty good fit

Honestly I’d like to be around 750 fuel and maybe 900 on spray with the pump it has now. Will eventually be going 13mm to make some real power. Just want to focus on getting it to hook for now.

Over the weekend a buddy came by and tig welded my 4 link bars for me. Came out nicely I decided to go with pretty long bars hoping that would smooth out weight transition and not shake the tires so easily.

Also gonna add 4 more holes of adjustment. But figured I’d use it for this season until the truck gets backhalfed

Goal is to run 6.70 pretty easily. By the online calculators it should be capable to run 5.90 at the weight in shooting for. But that’s all theory. I would say 6.70 is a much more reasonable goal

Been picking at the small things left on the truck. Got the wiring knocked out. Got the trans in. Got a battery box welded up. Mounted the adjustable shock tabs. Been super cold here so not much progress lately.

Anyone know a good springrate to start at for 4 link and 2wd? I’ve read 150-225 but I’m no very knowledgeable on that kind of stuff. My truck should be on the lighter side weight wise.

Yes it is low. The kit was a premise kit from Rhodes. Everyone else seemed to be fine but mine was rather short. But with my seat where I wanted it I’ve got about 2inches clearance from helmet. So technically it’s legal. So I’ll leave it until time comes to go chromoly one day maybe.

I was thinking the same thing, me being 6 ft tall. I like how you did the upper part with no problems getting to the joints to weld. So, are you saying most of the Rhodes cages are not that low overhead? Does that attach with plates to the floor, or through the cab to the frame?
